Vela: Maybe Ellis is right?

Lovely. Again launching personal attacks to divert attention away from your poor argument to cover up for your stupid statement.

Anywho I have had enough of this, I am going back to the Ranch. At least the mods are a little more even handed.
Alexander isn't a Mod here, and no one in this thread has been using Mod duties as a crutch. If you are going to run at the first sign of discord then go, no one is keeping you here, but put the blame on the right source, your own inability to defend your stance.

There is a very funny line in the original Die Hard where Alan Rickman's (sp?) character steals a line from Bruce Willis' character just before he intends to shoot John McClain; but on second thought, I won't type it because it would be just plain rude to recite it. :(

I don't think the first instance qualifies as being a cry baby.

Doing it year after year for three offseasons, each time inventing a new reasons why you are acting sobbing and insecure is where the cry baby references originate.
JMO, but the first time qualified as cry baby.

The motivation for going public is to generate sympathy.

Certainly repeated offenses will eventually include even the most hard core GE fan.

At least his cancer hasn't spread to in the classroom or on the field.

Didn't you have a pic of him dressed in the Air Force pilot uniform?

I can fully appreciate this point of view. I agree wholeheartedly that he screwed the pooch by going public with it, and that certainly explains some of the disdain felt towards him.

In year one, I was shocked simply because it was so out of the character he was supposed to be. It didn't make sense why he was being so adamant simply because he didn't want to play DE in the 3-4. I did not like how his defeatist attitude showed a lack of faith. And of course, demanding money then didn't help.

In year two, I became more annoyed and was baffled why he was so insecure about converting to OLB that he would doom himself from the start and not even trust his head coach. I did not buy his feelings of career mortality because 4-3 ends that were consistent could always find work. I also didn't care for the idea he basically wanted to extort money from the franchise to buy his acceptance of his role.

This year, my disgust goes beyond belief because he has now sunk to new levels by implying the franchise intentionally deceived him from day one and has treated him unfairly in negotiations. And he is also trying to rally public support against an owner who is doing what any other sound businessman would do. He's asking for the utterly ridiculous and has no grounds to do so.

It cracks me up when posters can't separate my opinions from the job. If I disagree with them it means they are in trouble with the site. Total BS, but some of these guys can never look past the title. It shouldn't surprise me any more, but it still does. Now, tell me again about Santa...

Please don't use that many y's after quincy. Somewhere, in AFL2 land, Carter thought he heard a blunt calling his name...

Campbell was a locomotive on two legs. He punished would be tacklers and ran over them with power unseen since Jim Brown, but honestly his running style wasn't poetic. It was just sheer domination.

Have you ever seen Sayers run? Check out the NFLN or something similar whenever they're doing a piece on him. Sayers was Barry Sanders before Barry Sanders. If he had enjoyed a long career, Emmitt Smith might have been chasing Sayers instead of Walter Payton. He was that good.

Hey I agree sayers was a thing of beauty Just a little before my time although I loved "Brians Song" and a heavy dose of NFL films coverage of him. In my time watching football ( other then Tony Dorsett who was my idol ) I enjoyed watching Walter Payton , But Earl was an animal with tremndous speed granted he didnt have the grace of Sayers but I think the Juice had a style and grace of sayers as well. For me I loved watching Campell, He murderedus on a Thanksgiving day game and I just couldnt believe how fantastic he was. But TD was hands down my favorite.

I have and big Earl makes my top 5 without question. The beauty of top 10 lists are that most lists will contain at least some if not the majority of the same players it boils down to personal preference on how they are ranked. I think you could make an argument for who is the best on any of these backs:

Walter Payton
Jim Brown
Earl Campbell
Gale Sayers
Emmitt Smith

While I agree with most of what you say There really is no "who is the best" its all different eras and personal opinion's But why is nt Tony Dorsett on there?

I hope you mean Dorsett... someone else was pimping Terrell Davis earlier in this thread, but I can't find that post at the moment.

Davis isn't even assured the HOF. How can he be in the discussion with Top 10 RBs?

Simpson was a great back, but he didn't have near the field vision as Sayers and that's saying a lot. Dorsett was the man. It's a damn shame that his knees eventually gave out like Campbell's. :(

I don't care for this offtopic discussion in the middle of my yearly Greg Ellis bashing, but I agree with you.

Terrell Davis should not even be on the proverbial radar.

While I am a huge Dorsett fan, I can't put him in the top 5. He does make my top 10 list though. Era absolutely plays a big role in a personal top 10 list. Seeing somebody live versus watching highlight reels makes it personal.

I agree... the RB discussion is not nearly as fun.
