Verdict's observations

None of these problems Dallas is having are a suprise. The defense is very nice to see though. A lot of things need fixing if Dallas wants to be contenders next season.

4. I would try to trade Lee for something now. If I could get a second or a third he's gone. Get something out of him now while he has value.
I agree , was thinking same thing, but they wont, again he has the star status that jerry loves.

5. The Amari Cooper trade was about several things, including improving the team. But possibly most importantly, if you believe he is the real deal, it tells you that the team is eliminating a bad receiving corps as an excuse, for everyone. It eliminates the shell game and should expose the real culprit.
your speculating,lol you could be partially right, but with the jones boys, no telling what they had in mind when they did this.

6. I'm all for running the ball early and often, but the choice of runs by Linehan is maddening. Predictability and running into the strength of the defense is idiotic.
I think it is partly running into strength, but also the blocking schemes and assignments are awful, and elliot has no speed now,
just power and decent vision, he isnt what he was in 2016.

7. I'm not sure if Dak is the guy or not. But the offensive line has been putrid. I'm on the fence with Dak. OTOH I'm not sure who you would replace Dak with in the draft or free agency.
There is no way to judge dak fairly, so many things wrong in what they do as a team, and it would seem they havent taught Dak much since
2016 .

9. The team actually plays better with LVE on the field than Lee.........yep
I was thinking during dallas wash game that they should have
played lve not lee, and waited till after the bye to put lee back in.
But jerry likes his stars on the field ready or not.

10. Dallas is still in the hunt in the NFC East. If this defense can continue to improve we will have a shot at winning the division.
W ell maybe , it depends on wash and if they keep winning or not, and they eagles, still too early to just count them out yet.

11. I don't think that the receivers have been the problem with this team, yet Cooper was upgrade. It won't matter if Cooper gets open if Dak can't see him.........yep
Also Amari will be working with the same bad play designs, doing what he is told, and if your say the Tenn DC are you going
to dbl Amari, take him out of the equation or just let him run free with single cov.?
I know jerry will say get the ball to amari at least 10 times, which just makes it predictable, and I can see dak pressured to throw to him
and maybe some picks due to that.

12. We "seem" to have signaled that we are most likely going to invest in Cooper long term and he is going to get paid. Right now, as it seems to me Dak is in that group (15 to 20m per year) and Elliott are also in that group.........yep

The salary cap says you can't pay everyone. So Tank and Irving may not be resigned. Does the Cooper trade tip the Cowboys' hand about letting Lawrence walk in a trade to recoup the first round pick we gave up for Cooper?

you won't get anything but maybe a 7th rounder for Lee from a contender going to the playoffs and needing a LB....Lee is old. often injured including this year and as you said, he is on the down side of his career. so who in their right mind would pay a 2nd or 3rd for an almost washed up LB?
 
Tank is not getting traded. You don’t trade away elite pass rushers. Stop it.

And while I believe Dak is safe. There is 1 notable free agent QB hitting the market this coming year.

While LVE has played well, the defense got gashed when he was on the field against the skins. Lee's play recognition and instincts are still light years ahead and that is not a knock on LVE, just experience.

If we keep struggling on offense and get to the point where we are out of the running for the playoffs, then I hope that we will give Mike White a shot to show if he might have what it takes to be the guy.

Frankly, because I don't believe we've got a shot of doing anything even if we win the weak East, I'd prefer we go ahead and put him in to take an extended look at him before having to decide what to do about the position next year.

I'm not sure if Dak's struggles with reading blitzes, adjusting blocking and finding the open receiver are things he can change. Romo called him out on each of these things Sunday and they are contributing to our inability to get the offense going.
 
I hope young guys are wrong about paying DP $20m+. He hasn’t done anything to earn that kind of salary at this point. People will bring up 2016 and that’s fine, but what has he done for the team lately?

Obviously it would be beneficial for the team if DP does pan out but let’s call a spade a spade.

according to the talking heads on the break like nick and couple of other yesterday they think if the cowboys don't make the playoffs this will be garrets last season

Tank may be a better DE than Amari is at receiver. A one is probably in the ball park for Tank.

Maybe. But Garrett and Stephen vacation together and the Cowboys WANT him to be the coach. Garrett has zero responsibility other than organizationally so he has very little coaching culpability, by intentional design. If he was on the hot seat he would have taken over play calling by now.

I have no doubt that his contract will come up in negatiations as will Garroppolo, but Dak has significantly underperformed Cousins.

I don't believe in this theory of bringing in Amari, and if Dak can't hit him, they will go with someone else. They have the film with all the angles we are able to find and look at. If they don't already know he isn't the guy, they never will.

Dak is brandable, and that is all that Jerry cares about. Cooper Rush or Mike White, aren't getting commercials. There are no real free agents available. Herbert wouldn't fall to us if he did go in the draft. Not to mention he has basically already said he isn't. So we are just screwed for the foreseeable future. Dak isn't going to change, Jerry isn't going to change, Garrett isn't leaving, and we are just the same mediocre team we have been forever now. I have absolutely no hope left in this team getting anywhere. If they give Dak some big fat contract, I hope someone chokes on it.

I really think Dak is a smart, team first guy and I think he will sign a team friendly deal. Maybe I'm wrong, but I don't think he will PUSH hard for big money. Now the Jones boys may give it to him anayway, but I dont think he will push for it. Dak is getting big money as QB of the Cowboys and he's not going to mess that up.

It's hard to deal with all the constant negativity here and after a loss like we had with the Commanders I knew it would be hard to deal with immediately after the game so I took a day or two break from it. Lol.
