I can’t express how apathetic I was about the Cowboys after last season’s catastrophe and wasting all that cap on Dak. I have been a fan for 35 plus years and a season ticket holder for about 20 straight years. I can’t tell you how down I was about this team.

I would like to think that I’m not a happy fan nor a guy who is eternally negative about the team. I try to call it like I see it.

As I said in another thread, the Shotty hire is growing on me and this draft class caused me to be even more optimistic about the direction of this team.

I don’t know how ANYONE can look at our first round pick and not understand why he should be an anchor for this team for a long time. I get the complaints about positional value but his intangibles are VERY encouraging. I love this pick. It seems like we got great value for picks 1.2,and 3. This is the first time in forever that I believe that the Cowboys actually stuck to their board.

The Cowboys also resisted chasing their tail to add a receiver that wasn’t any better than players already on the roster.

Am I excited about RB? No. But it’s not nearly as bad as last year’s RB room was.

I don’t believe that Jerry and Co are done with this class. I think that the team will be open to adding a WR and/or a RB if necessary.

Side note: I LOVE THAT WE ARE BUILDING THE TRENCHES! But it’s interesting just HOW MANY OL we have added to the mix. It seems like we have far too many to make the team. Im
wondering what the plan is with that.

I think that the interior of the OL has been solidified. The question is how iffy is the team on the OL situation? I could see a scenario where Guyton or Steele is a trade or cut before the season starts. I think Shotty is going to create competition like Parcells did and be willing to move on from non performers.

As Booker was speaking I couldn’t help but think how much of an influence could a guy like Booker have on a player like Parsons. He seems like a first class young man. A respectful leader. I could see him going to Parsons and telling him, dude you are a great players but if you focused you could become GREAT. Maybe humble Parsons a little bit.

I love the culture change. I think the results will eventually show up on the field. I believe in this process. I don’t think it’s just lip service.

Love reading this,I've been wandering around the wildness too

I disagree with you on this point. Williams and Sanders are this year's Elliott and Cook. The only thing that redeemed us last year was Dowdle, and we don't know if we have even a Dowdle on this roster. The late-round RBs might can do it but there's a big if attached to that.

Right now, I'd say the RB room is worse for that reason. I hope all the new additions prove that wrong, but I can't get too excited about two FA backs who averaged in the mid-3s last year and two-late round backs, when the hit percentage in the late rounds is around 20 percent.

The Cowboys hit a home run with their first two picks then it was Jerry Springer time when the wheels started to fall off. In the 3rd round like clock work they go and draft a guy coming off an ACL injury. Why Jerry why do you ALWAYS draft injured players. Not only that they let Johnson and Skattebo slip right through their hands and now we have to play against Skattebo. Not only that he drafts a glorified Duece Vaugh, why do we need another one??? Grading this draft I can only go as high as a C-

we say this about almost most drafts.

the draft isnt the issue. we all know who is. this was a chance at a fresh start, its not. we win april to fuel the season to win april the next year.

this is not a hard pattern. its not the players, you need structure and you need vision, JJ doesnt want the combintation. Get the sports shows talking , the stadium makes money year round.

how many play makers do we hve on defense? cant get it together, separately, sure they do ncie things at different times, but a complete package to be strong or carry the team? nope.

do we have an offense that can carry the team anywhere? no, some good games and we beat up on bad teams. Anything to make people notice? no. Just players on the field.

You fans: you need a hall of famer this and that.

Cowboys teams: how many hall of famers have we wasted? Lots.

you need an owner, GM and HC to know their jobs and put it together. we refuse to do that.

Sanders and Williams are JAGs. Cheap reclamation projects.

Their offseason work at RB was pretty poor IMO.

Dobbins was out there and would have been a far smarter signing than the two JAGs.

When the season started last year I felt like Zeke was a complete Zero except POSSIBLY in very short yardage situations. I was very negative on what Zeke had to offer. I felt lie Rico wasn’t a complete zero but he was mostly just a guy. He really wasn’t much more than that. I did think that Deuce could be used for something in certain situations but the team never really tried to play to his strengths.

I’m not sold on Sanders but I do believe that Williams might have more potential productivity than Dowdle did last year. It remains be seen about the two new guys but Blue does have speed so that’s more than what we had last year at this time.

The Cowboys tend to perform better when people are counting them out. I think this team overperform expectations. The additions in free agency are being slightly undervalued when you add them to this draft class.

Great post verdict!

Although I have been clamoring for our much needed WR2 and RB help before Booker was picked, and mad at Jerry for the Booker pick, I have done a 360 shortly after watching his press conference and learning of what a leader he is. Great character, man of commanding presence, intelligence, understands the game of football, and the physical traits to dominate - how could you not absolutely love this pick.

Even over next 2 rounds, when we could of still did what we wanted to at WR and RB, the picks were absolute steals and very smart pickups. DE & MP will be a great duo on defense front, and I love the Revel pick.

Was overall a very good draft. Would of like to squeeze RB Martinez out somewhere in late rounds, but hey they knew who they wanted and they stuck to it.

I have zero expectations going into this season. I expect Dallas to be average. I'm hoping the players we drafted on day 1 and day 2 make the team better. But that's just 3 players. Everything else is up in the air.

I hope Blue can contribute. Love the speed. I hope Mingo is being underrated. How will our players heal? Our free agents, that's more wishful thinking. More importantly, how will Dak look after he returns. I'll have higher expectations after we add another 3 players from next year's draft.

While Devonte and Blue have very similar traits in that they are both decent in pass blocking and catching in the passing game, Blue is faster and more elusive but smaller.

Phil Mafah is big dude for rb. Want to see what he can do. Will be interesting training camp, but I would not be surprised if they trade out find another RB to compete

Culture change.... bahahahahahhahahahhh. What a joke. Culture is so damn subjective to fans who will never step foot on the practice field with these guys. Never lift weights with these guys. Never be in film study, but you are already excited about the "New Culture?"
So we replaced the Malcontent Martin with Booker, and that has us on the right track?

Do you actually pay attention to Micah Parson's? You think a rookie is going to go up to the best player on the team and put him in his place? bahahahahhahahhahhahhahahahaahah
