I think we should rush three and drop eight. We'll get about the same amount of pressure on the QB. We'll be begging teams to run on us. When they do, it should take them longer to score. That'll keep the game closer. :D

I think it depends on Spencer. If he can't go I think they need to sign someone with some results.

I'll bet our scouting department already has a list compiled and prioritized. I think the idea of moving Wilber and/or Carter to DE on passing downs has a lot merit too. Watched the Patriots Eagles game this morning and Belichick, who is a pretty good defensive mind, did it with Ninkovich and got a sack on Foles.

Probably find a couple backups who get cut to play serious snaps, if not start.

I would dance with who you took to the dance. And grow some in real games. There already is a lot of pre evaluated players that are journeymen that have been added. There are a rather large amount of talented players...and no matter how many so-so players are added, they still won't add up to All Pro. You improve as a team and aggressive play in the interim.

I don't know who either. But there are generally some surprise cuts if we have the cap space. If they are vested then they can go anywhere. If not then they have to go thru waivers which makes that difficult.

My concern with this route, Jobber, is that it will be paramount to admitting to a half-hearted off season to fill slots. Then on top of that, they are admitting their evaluations of veterans are far from efficient. New England traded for a couple of defensive tackles, but were very directed in efforts. One of which was Bass.

I'm holding faith, but hoping none-the-less.

Yeah, it would be a stop gap approach although you might get some service for 1-3 years.

The rotation as-is had some young, hungry guys, but didn't one of them get hurt (for the year) and we traded Bass....yes, IMO, we should look to see who is there and pick up a reclamation project or two...do we get cap space back because of Scandrick's suspension for 4 games?

If I'm Dallas I would go on the shopping spree once veterans start getting cut.

That would be everything that has been wrong with Dallas GM the past 20 years and of the things you as a poster would be blasting them for. Now if there are some young guys that are reasonably priced that are an upgrade then by all means try to improve.

I think we all could agree on half a dozen guys that could go in CC boy's burn barrel.

I think the odds are good we will go after a veteran DE esp WDE once the cuts start. That seems the best way to pick up a pass rusher off that side IMO. What do you girls and guys think?

I would prefer to roll with the guys that have been in training camp. A big problem last season was the the street guys that rolled though here had no time to practice in this defense.

I prefer a borderline NFL player with a full training camp with the team to a borderline player with no training camp with the team.

Having said that, if there is somebody that is a significant upgrade, obviously you have to consider it; however, Dallas is middle of the pack in the waiver claims process. If a good player is released, 15 other teams have to pass on him before the Cowboys can sign him.

You know we have a bad defense if we're looking at other teams final cuts to bolster our team. But I'm all for it if they're better than what we have. I'd be more for a trade even though Jerry seems to get the shorter end of the stick in trades.
