In regards to a few hynea-like posts recently, they would sober up if they had a felony conviction on their record:

• Can no longer vote: from term to life, depending on state
• Likely can't run for office
• Can't serve on a jury
• Harder to find a new job
• Licences may be revoked

If it were them, they would not think it's getting off light.

Actually, he did care...when this came out he was cut from the Falcons, lost his sponsors, went bankrupt. This was before his felony conviction.
