Vick Poll

I answered "NO" because I don't really care about Mike Vick.

I also don't really care about Joe Schmoe, the purse-snatcher from Topeka.

What about Joe Schmoe who snatches your wife or mother's purse?

You're answering the question out of context anyhow, therefore your vote should be null and void. The question wasn't do you care about Vick which is obviously the question you answered.

Actually, I said I would like to see a poll of VICK fans.

I don't think there are many on this board!
He's not real popular here in Atlanta now. Most Vick apologists here have turned on him. The local sports radio guys are blasting him every chance they get. These are the same guys who would come up with excuses for his poor performances.

"Do you care if Vick is involved in Dog Fighting" as requested

you need more options:

3. i'm mostly tired of vick in the news and new vick threads make me hurl
4. regardless of whether or not he's innocent or guilty - keep the threads coming as we've not discussed it enough!
5. yes i care as my life is pathetic to the point where i have to vicariously live through others
6. no i don't care as my life is pathetic to the point where i have to vicariously live through others
7. say NO to vic threads.

I vote for "3" "6" and "7"

Some of us care because 1) if he is guilty we don't want to see him get away with it and 2) as a public figure if Vick is involved and found guilty it would send a strong message to the rest of the dirt bags out there that think dog fighting is cool that maybe it isn't worth the risk of going to jail. And if that spares some dogs in the future getting mauled and mistreated that's a good thing.

22(so far) that wouldn't care if Mike Vick commited a felony.

One could only assume they wouldn't care if Tony Romo robbed a bank.

I mean, over look one felony, why not all felonies? Especially if they are Cowboys!

Real backbones of society there I tell ya.

Those are some awful big leaps you're taking, no?

He swinggggggssssss...................and misses.

I think a good followup poll might be:

Should Mike Vick be presumed innocent until proven guilty ?

Yes
No

Seems like a lot of people are willing to tar and feather the guy right now based on nothing more than the say-so of some anonymous dog fight enthusiasts (who are allegedly THE scum of the earth).

Especially considering THIS poll was in response to Nike showing some backbone and not allowing Vick to be tried "in the court of public opinion". Nice user name, BTW.

I think there's more to it that meets the eye, and that's all I am saying in regards to that...

Yes, and if found innocent he can right a book.

"IF I had, this is how I would have done it."

Well, you may be right on target but typically, a Federal Court doesn't issue a Federal Search Warrant without more then just hearsay or inuendo. It usually takes something of substance to facilitate that.

Nice user name, BTW.

:hammer: That point is lost on most of these guys. Mainly because they did not like him in the 1st place.

And I still don't care if he was involved or not. I don't care what he had in his water bottle either.

I like to watch football. What those guys do off the field, does not matter to me.

That's for the league and justice system to deal with.

The court system is made up of men. Men have been known to make mistakes all the time.

Sometimes the things they do are not due to a mistake but to their own flights of fancy.

Look at Nifong and the Duke case.

Mistakes can happen, that's true. On the other hand, the country is still running, the wheels are still turning and the law still allows for people to walk the streets. Can mistakes be made? Certainly they can. However, to say this is one of them is, IMO, unfounded. If Vick were a normal person, he would already have been detained. To this point, he has not served any time, nor has he been inconvenienced much. We will soon see what the law has to say about this. I'm doubtful, it will be good for Vick. After all, this is the second time Law inforcement has tried to get Vick for Dog Fighting. It's not as if he doesn't have a bit of a track record going back for some time on this issue.

After all, you know what they say. "Find me a convicted man doing time and I'll show you a man who didn't do it."

Sure they do. All it takes is probable cause, which is a pretty low bar.

Dunno what you are talking about.

Why would they detain him while they conducted an investigation? This is dog fighting; not capital murder/suspected of terrorism (insert political jokes of Guantanamo Bay).
