Am I the only one who thinks he was just trying to put on a show for the media by acting silly? If he had a concussion there would be news reports all over and would be questionable to play the next game.
You're kidding, right?

You might be the most naive person I've ever met.

You can't fake those glazed eyes and spinning pupils.

You must have never seen anyone hit in the head that hard before.

Ever heard the term, "Punchdrunk"?

Oh, and...

Chad Johnson suffered a concussion late in the fourth quarter of Cincinnati's win.
Wide receiver coach Hue Jackson led Chad Johnson into the showers and helped him get dressed.
One of the team trainer's had to drive Johnson home. Said Carson Palmer of his teammate, "He's a little loopy." Players often return from concussions without missing any playing time, but it varies depending on the situation.

I'm obviously not a doctor. I should have looked at the video a little closer, I didn't notice anything out of the ordinary with his eyes, but I don't recall looking either.

So he was knocked silly, but honestly - I think you can agree it isn't hard to fake something like that. I'm not sure why you were so amused I thought he was faking it when it's extremely easy to get the wrong impression on something like this, especially when I have no idea what I'm looking for to see if he's faking it or not.

The trainers must think this thing is very minor, otherwise it would be all over the internet and TV. I think Troy's concussions at the rear of his career made me have the mindset that a consussion is a long term injury, apparently not.

Hopefully he'll be okay. It would be hard to live without his dances.

Thank you for enlightening me. I hope it feels so good to be right. There's nothing more exilarating than pointing out the short comings of others, is there? :banghead: <3

Concussions show immediate affects on memory, speech, perception, etc.
These affects normally are only temporary. However, sustaining multiple concussions over a period of time can begin to cause lasting affects.
That is why you see so many boxers that are completely out of this world.
That is the reason for Troy's departure from the game. He was reaching the brink of where another couple concussions and he may have serious damage.

In response to your statement, it would be rather hard to imitate. There's a "look" in the eyes and an irrational display of behavior that occurs when the brain is not functioning normally that would be near impossible for a functioning brain to mimic.

These types of injuries occur often in football and aren't a cause of media focus. A concussion is always reported, though to give an indication of a player who may need some time away from the game to get back to himself. But it's hardly a cause for a media frenzy.

I didn't find any humor in that clip.

I'm sure you guys wouldn't be laughing if some of the comments Troy had made after a concussion were caught on video.

Personally, I think Brian Russell should be suspended for at least 3 games (personally, I would say more) and slapped with a huge fine. After watching it, there was clear intent to injure by launching himself at the head rather than at the body.

I think Russell second rate gutless jerk. I mean I love a good hit as much as anyone, but that was clearly a dirty cheap shot with cruel intent. Why hasn't the NFL spoken up about this? I bet it's because they are deciding how to make an example of him. I sure hope so, because hits like that can end careers.

I think whoever shared the video should be fined. Personally the right thing to do would be not to embarras the player that way. Football is not always a pretty game. Did they take video of Kearse while they were examining his knee and he was crying....no....and they shouldn't have posted this one. Sometimes the media have no brains.

I don't know why but it bothers me that the people who took this released it out. The guy who stopped the interview was clearly the only one thinking.

Yeah I agree, it was crappy of them to release the video. Chad Johnson is awesome, and I hope he's ok. ANd also, this thread was a good reason for me to put ilovejerry on ignore, so I'm greatful.

How do you stop number 85?

Chin check him out of his cleats.

C'mon guys, its football. Don't be a bunch of nancies.

There are far worse problems in the world than some habitual trash-talking athlete getting the bejeezus knocked out of him while playing a game.

I just hope he's ok. I love the game, but I still have no desire to see individuals with serious injuries.
