It's an airplane, not a bamboo cage at the Hanoi Hilton. Put on a pair of pants like a civilized human being.

I didn't realize that shorts were for the uncivilized.

I'll keep that in mind this summer when I'm wearing my jersey, shorts and favorite flip-flops.

Was she supposed to fly dressed to a "T" for a funeral? That's a silly question, she could be going to be with family day(s) ahead of the funeral.

In my case, I hope everyone wears Cowboys stuff to my funeral!

My ex-father in-law...we just had his funeral. He was buried in a cowboys sweatshirt. Everyone, including his widow was surprised I did not wear a cowboys shirt. They expected that I would. Almost did. My ex-wife said it would have been appropriate. Seeing how he considered me one of his sons. And in rememberence of the games we went and watched together.

Now I wish in a way, I would have worn one.

I really can't comment on this, but I will anyway.

The fact is that I have not been in an airport, or on a plane, since September 5, 2001. Yes, that is 6 days before the tragic day of infamy.

It doesn't surprise me though what the lady went through. In the forty years I have been a Cowboy fan, whether it is was growing up in New Hampshire, my twenty years in the Navy, or down here on the Mississippi Gulf Coast, Philly fans all seem to have a universal signature:

1. They talk smack like the Eagles are the greatest thing since sliced bread. And they don't have skins on the wall to back up their imagined greatness.

2. They love it when an opponent is injured.

- It wasn't just the Irvin incident.
- 1990 A huge cheer came from the vet when the defensive end (Clyde Simmons) slams Aikman to the turf and separated his shoulder.
- Many times at sports bars, they have cheered for Cowboy injuries. "Here comes another pulled hammy for Emmitt!" Garbage like that.

3. When the Eagles are playing bad, they usually disappear. Either that, or they will say that they really don't care.

- Before Katrina wiped out the Sports Pub on the coast, there was this Eagle fan that was running his mouth before the game (I think it was the 2002 game where Dallas had the halftime lead in the Vet). I didn't see him the whole time Dallas had the lead. When the second half started, and Quincy Carter threw that early pick, a few moments later, here comes Eagle fan. He made his presence known for the erst of the day.

- And even today, the one girl I work with, all last year I constantly heard about 44-6. It was a long summer. So I reminded her a few week ago about 58-14 in their final two games. What do I hear?

"WHO CARES!"

She is not the only one.

BOTTOM LINE: Eagle fans just cannot take what they dish out.

I am rewatching the 1992 Divisional Championship game where the Cowboys killed the Eagles 34-10. One of my favorite all time games.

I dunno, I am pretty critical of Philly fans, but I think you can read his question one of two ways.

The way she is feeling, that she got searched because of her jersey.

Or...

He asked her that because Philly fans hate the Cowboys so much and he was genuinely curious.

The way she told the story it sounded to me like the person who asked her the question was not the person who pulled her aside. I could be wrong though.

But that person could be making the calls to pulls someone from the line....

I guess I don't blame them. If an Eagles fan was near me on fire I wouldn't urinate on them. I take it back ... that's exactly what I'd do.

I always do. The only time I fly is when I am going to a Cowboy game and I will have on a Cowboy T-shirt or most likely a Jersey and not once have I been stopped or singled out. I have done at least 13 trips and never once have I run into a problem.

Same here.... Always with my Cowboy shirt or tshirt and my cap.
I catch some flack for it but also find a lot of Cowboy fans out there.

Now if WG came through my check point - ....

Well gotta go now....

Who heads to family funeral in a football jersey?

Umm, I guess I do. I just had to fly back home last weekend for my grandma's funeral, and I was wearing my Witten jersey to fly down there. The funeral wasn't till two days later, but thanks for your concern.

Suburban white mothers like herself (even grandmothers) are randomly pulled aside all the time because the TSA needs to prove that they're not just profiling certain "ethnic" types.

The comment seems to be the problem for her. It was an unprofessional thing for a security person to say, IMO.

completely convinced that i was pulled because i wasn't american. my girlfriends parents live over there so she has a green card which she always uses when flying because she says that if she doesn't she is nearly always "randomly selected" for extra screening. not going to complain about it though its just one of those things, you're only going to sit in the bar in the departure lounge anyway so no big deal.

sports fans have banter all the time, i suppose it depends on the tone ie whether it was said threateningly or jokingly but since she says herself in the video that its not something you joke about i would assume the latter. a bit of ribbing over a football jersey is hardly making fun of terrorist attacks as she claims.

Nothing, provided she's at some sort of party or sporting event, where it would be appropriate. We've gotten far too lax in this country when it comes to public appearance. I've seen men in shorts on planes and at ballgames (shorts are for little boys, fellas. I don't want your hairy legs pressing against mine), and I've seen women in flipflops at church. Your comfort is not the highest priority. In the words of George Costanza, "We're trying to have a society, here."

Time and place, people. Time and place.

Just make sure you're at the beach or someplace like that.

I hate to make this short, but I have a flight to catch. Remember, my comfort is the highest priority.

All I know is, you better be wearing something nice when we exchange vows. Hint: not a Darren Woodson jersey.

WG doesn't date pasty, white guys...
