I've analyzed this video and I must say I'm not impressed at all by Henson.....he looked like exactly what he is....a 3rd string QB fighting for a roster spot in the NFL.

Wow! What a shock, you're knocking Henson again. I'm so glad that the one poster that knows QB talent when he sees it has had a chance to analyze this video. What a relief.

I've seen more in the last two videos from Henson than we've seen from Romo in his 4 years here.

On the nosey.

And that doesn't mean we aren't pulling for Romo...it's just a fact.

I've never really pulled for either of them - I thought they were both a gamble.

The first time I ever saw Henson was in Oxnard during his first TC. He was good, but very raw - he kept underthrowing and looked confused. You could see the talent, but anyone who thought he should be on the field during his first two years was crazy.

Watching these videos - he has come a long way. It looks like with each game he is finding his feet again and shaking off the rust of a few years - and i like what I am seeing. He is comfortable, not afraid to make the tough throw over the middle, but smart enough to know when it isn't there. He is far and away better than he was 2 years ago.

Romo is OK - but I've never been to impressed with him. A lifetime backup, IMO, but not a starter - ever. I still think Henson is full of risk - but the reward exceeds that risk to me.

I hope he sits again this year - because a) Bledsoe goes down, we have trouble and b) one more year would be beneficial - especially if he wins the backup.

But in 2007 - I hope he has finally come around enough to challenge for the starter position.

I'll say this - kudos to the way that the boys and Parcells have nursed him along - I like this way of development.

Very well said.

I still think that none of us can pass judgement on Henson because we don't know what he Cowboys are evaluating.

If they are watching him to see his comfort level, then he's doing a great job.
He fumbled the opening snap, calmly picked it up and completed a pass. He found a secondary receiver on his TD pass. He made a nice run on the play before the TD. He made a great throw while on the run in the third quarter. Intentionally threw the ball away on a few plays. And looks very calm on the field.

All good stuff in my opinion.

The physical skills are undeniable.

He's only started 14 games in his college/pro CAREER. People should lighten up a bit.

wow..I thought he looked pretty good. His numbers may have been better last week but he looked more natural and fluid to me this week.

Anyone else notice Henson's throwing motion change in the video? I saw at least three different throwing motions in that video alone.

Not saying it's a good thing or a bad thing. It's just an observation.

It's refreshing to see comments like these, as opposed to the arguments that tend to break out. I agree with both Juke and Crown Royal. I've always ben enamored with Henson, but I won't hesitate to say he didn't do something well. So far I think he's showing much more good than bad in NFLE...and if he keeps it up throughout the season with a couple more really solid games, then I think he has a future...and hope he can contend to start here in 2007. I think he's looking more and more comfortable.

Is there video of the little run he had for a 1st down? It was another good play to showcase his mobility as he escaped the pressure and dove for the 1st down. Anyone know which play I mean? It was at the 4:05 mark in the 1st quater.

One of the anouncers mentioned that Zuriel Smith said the difference is night and day in Henson from 2 years ago when they were both here, and now with the Fire. Not that Smith is the greatest himself (though I think he's showing something too now to be a KR and 4th WR), but he played with him at both points and should know.

Yep...deep ball, over the top...the short stuff, ie, swings to the backs is very side arm...the mid range, 3/4...he's VERY accurate on the mid range stuff.

Finally watched it. That was horrible. Not sure he's even back up quality. Like most I've always hoped for the best with Henson, but these videos have shown exactly what we needed to see. This guy's not an NFL QB.

Indeed. He needs more touch on the short routes but all in all he's lookin' pretty good! Of course, some folks do disagree on Henson from time to time on this board.:)

That was either a late April Fool's joke, or you're a bad judge of talent.

Or you're just a troll and wouldn't admit it even if you thought he did well.

What?!? That was pretty bad. His deep balls were atrocious. The 2-3 touch passes he attempted in the end-zone were either wide left or wide right AND overthrown. He did make a couple nice, accurate throws on the run.

Other's were talking about his pocket presence in another thread, saying it's improved. Well if that is improvement, I hope Jerry learned his lesson on wasting 3rd round picks.

You must be blind, because the video is more than telling....Face it man, Henson is horrible....even in the NFL farm system. You guys that continue to support him need to get over it and stop with the 'I support every player on my team and want them to succeed' koolaid homerism nonsense.

I can live with the fact that we wasted a 3rd rounder on him, at least he wasn't a top 10 pick in the 1st round, or I would really be ticked.

i am not a real big henson fan either right now. he is starting to shake off the rust a bit though. his different release passes are to inconsistant. he needs to stick to one release. he tends to throw to high on alot of his throws because of the sidearm throws. the only thing i like is his pockett presence he knows when to step up and avoid the rush by the defensive ends. this week he did not stare down his receiver as much as last week and especially the first week. he has seven games left. if he can keep up what he is doing he will be alright. i still do not think he is our future qb. i might change my mind later in the season.

Thank you very much!!! It is good to see some mobility in a QB after watching our statue of a QB last year. He still needs a little work but DH is looking good!!
