If TO has the ball and is moving backwards while Harris is locked up with TO then the whistle should be blown... as it was. His forward progress was ruled stopped.

For once TO got an early whistle before getting slammed late

I dont care.

Its about time TO got a call in his favor.

He has been pushed out of bounds making catches on the sidelines atleast 3 times this year and he didnt get any calls.

whistle blew

Oh I know but it blew when Harris had the ball. You can see it between the Harris has posession and Harris right foot down. Right foot down pic is a few frames after and the whistle begins to go to the refs mouth but Harris already has the ball.

It was a bad call in my opinion.

He has also been getting hit late because of late whistles.

What swell news that is. And if the line judge had not been blowing the play dead (see your exhibit # 2) before the change of possession occurred, it might even be relevant.

You can complain about the nano seconds between the whistle and complete possession by Harris all you want but the fact is that once the whistle begins to blow the play is dead. Obviously Harris was in the ACT of GAINING possession when that happened, but the play, and the ACT are done at the first sound of the whistle.

I thought it was a "close" call and if the line judge doesn't blow the whistle... but hey, we can talk what ifs every Sunday. Lets save it for when we lose and not when we win. Favre "probably" would have thrown his first pick a few minutes earlier is all.

In this pic you clearly see Harris has the ball and the Ref has not blown the whistle yet.

The list goes on and on....

DB's are extra rough with him - no call
DB's are taunting excessively - no call

He is a Cowboy. I/We got his back. Flub them.

The whistle itself doesn't signify the end of the play. The ref judging when forward progress was stopped is when it does, the whistle is incidental.

Can someone confirm this I thought the whistle signifies the end of a play.

He has an argument for that. He did look like he ate some.

Can he get fined for eating popcorn? Regardless of when?

According to Rule 7, Section 4, Article 1:

An official shall declare dead ball and the down ended:

...

(n) when any official sounds his whistle, even though inadvertently.

Nice find ogt. You think it was a legit strip?
Well, I think he stripped the ball and had his feet inbounds. But the whistle blew before it was stripped, while TO has possession, so it's a dead ball without a turnover.

The problem is that if TO heard the whistle he likely gave up on the play, making it easier to strip.

I'm pretty sure he's not the ref who blew the whistle

the guy who wasn't closest to the play blew it because he saw TO come down w/ the ball, and as you can see, the ref in this frame is the closest, the whistle was blown before this frame

in fact the guy who didn't blow the whistle, vehemently stated his case w/ the guy who did, because he saw it all, as he was closest

Nothing that we already didn't know. TO returned the favor later.
