Primary points of the vid that I got:

Bennett is disappointed that he didn't have the kinda year he and others thought he would have.
Thinks the Cowboys are a good fit and likes it here.
Thinks the coaches could do more to get him more involved in the passing game.
Appreciates that he was able to develop other aspects of his game, like blocking.
Bennett wants to catch the ball more.

That was my take. Find me any offensive player in the NFL that does not want the ball more.

Bennett's point in the video was he wasn't called on to make plays. That's why he didn't make plays.

As I recal the two players played different roles in the offense this season. Phillips was more of an H-back, I think. So the results we saw from him shouldn't be expected once he has responsibilities of a true tight end.

Bennett is a great blocker with a really high ceiling. Absolutely no way do you take snaps away from him and give them to another guy who won't do as good a job most likely and never will have the talent.

When he had his opportunities he dropped the ball, couldn't get lined up at the LOS or ran the wrong route. If he learn't the playbook the QB, coaches and ownership may just have a little bit of confidence in him to get involved in the offense. MartyBS has teased us all, but now needs to earn his chance and not think he's entitled to it. Personally I think he's lucky that the VRF look as though they are going to give him another TC and preseason to prove himself worthy of a place on the roster. He may have a lot of upside, but at the moment that just means he's tall.

Interesting that Laufenberg mentioned that Cincy offered a 1st rounder....if only Jerry had bit.

Perhaps Marty would be more involved had he not dropped the ball like he did on the first drive of the game in New York the first week of December forcing a punt.

And that wasn't his only drop, but one of many. The qb tends to distrust you and look at other options when you aren't very reliabe...like Marty B, or Tellus, or Jupiters Crunch or whatever lame handle he's using these days.

Not a big fan. Hope he proves me wrong, but this guy hasn't impressed since day 1. He may look like Tarzan but plays like Jane.

That's what I got too; nothing in that vid that is a concern. Now some of his other stuff however...

You clearly have an axe to grind with Marty and want to be able to lord over him your supposedly superior intelligence. Immaturity is simply stupidity that you grow out of. Young folks sometimes do stuff that is dumb and incredibly self-centered. For example, a few years from now when you are more mature, you'll realize how ****ing pretentious it is to have a Vonnegut quote as your signature.

First of all...for all my immaturity, I can keep a football discussion from turning into a personal issue with somebody I've never met. Second, my distaste for Martellus comes primarily from the fact that I don't think he's that great a football player. Third, the Vonnegut quote is a joke. It's not meant to rile anybody up, so maybe you should chill out a little bit. It's not like I picked out some political/social commentary from him. It's a joke about angels and the Mob. Sorry for being so "****ing pretentious".

It was just an observation that I think people go too easy on Martellus because of his age.

I do not buy this. Why do people post second hand info like this stuff and act like it a fact? What have the members of the two teams involved said?

Laufenberg spoke as if it was a fact.

Some reporter reports second hand info and people act like it is the gospel. No idea why they do that.

He can speak using whatever mannerisms he wants. It does not make it true. It makes a second hand account. He does not mention a source does he?

The 1st rder was put out there and it's kinda stuck.

Hos mentioned it was a 4th and Chris Henry.

It's all about what you prefer to believe, but truthfully there's been nothing reported that's confirmed either versions.

Either way, the trade didn't go down and people should probably move past it.

How do you know it isn't true? Can you prove it isn't true? Isn't Babe close to JG? Perhaps that's his source? I wouldn't know, but I haven't heard any noises from VR saying it's untrue.

He's not going for that. He said he thinks he'll be one of the greatest TEs of all time.

And that's why the GM and the Coach need to talk to the Agent and say, "you need to tell Marty B that he can become a wealthy LT or a broke TE this year."

Same here. I think if Bennett wants to be more involved then he has to take advantage of the opportunities when they do come his way, the more plays he makes the more likely his number will get called.

I dont know what part of this is hard for you, I have even gone through this with you in another thread.

Bill Jones, works for laufenberg at cbs11...he also works for blue star media...the cowboys production wing....

The week of the falcons game, bill jones made a post on the cbs11 twitter account that he had it confirmed from a team source that it was a 1 offered for bennett, but the cowboys were not interested.

Then on that sunday nights score, the day we played the falcons....Laufenberg and dennis discussed it....Dennis must have had a source tell him the same thing and oh by the way he hosted the marty b show...

then the most important element, Babe Laufenberg. He is the color guy on the radio broadcast and the best in the business, anyway he was down on the field before the game standing talking to Stephen jones, The garrett bros, skip peete and ray sherman. Do you think He might have confirmed it?

and the other element that makes me without a doubt 100% believe it. Stephen Jones likes to tell the media how other teams want our players, he has done it every training camp since I have lived here and he has done it during a live interview with Babe on cbs11.

So again, its not in anyway second hand information.

Just to clarify from my first post, the reason I don't think they'll get much if anything for him is that if it became known that they don't want him anymore, that would more or less signal to the rest of the league that Dallas doesn't believe he will pan out. So, a guy with some minor off-field stuff whose original team doesn't want him anymore doesn't sound like anywhere near the trade bait that he was when he was the next big thing coming out of TC.

I would tend to believe Babe Laufenberg.

Not a big deal, I just thought it had been shot down long ago and now we see the Babe saying it on TV :) .
