Wanna say thanks to Macchiavelli from the Grambling State board for sending me the DVD of Hatcher's highlights.

**DISCLAIMER**
This is my first effort at doing this. I'm a true rookie at this kinda stuff. so if it doesn't work, maybe one of the video gurus can help out. It's been converted from DVD to mpg to divx. It was the only way I could reduce the size of the file. I'm gonna try to load it on youtube later. But I'm still waiting on a confirmation email.

-----------
Anyway, it's a 10:30 min divx file. Approx. 98 MBs

At the 2:09 mark, his highlights from the Washington State game start. There's no sound up until about the 8min mark, where his combine coverage comes up.

BTW, he's #90.

I almost threw up:ralph: when the combine stuff came on.

Jason Hatcher was sometimes bigger than the Olinemen blocking him.

Thanks Dub-G.

My thoughts. This is the first I've seen Hatcher. Actually, I'd never heard of him until we drafted him.

Positives
* Very large, nice bubble. Looks more like a DT.
* Very Quick, for any size man
* Aggressive and plays with a forward lean
* Natural athlete, good COD skills.
* Played a few snaps standing up. Interesting
* Has some natural pass rush talent at DT(7:42) or DE(7:28)
* Never gives up on a play
* Relentless in pursuit of pass and run plays (6:30)
* Can stack (7:21) or chase(7:13 mark)
* Looked really good against Wash St.
* Surprisingly disciplined as a player. Stayed home on the two or three reverse plays I saw.
* Can close in a hurry

Negatives
* Raw techniques wise.
* No consistency from snap to snap
* Tends to come out of the blocks high
* Would appear to be more of a brute, ideally built for DT or 3-4 DE.
* Takes on lead blockers with shoulders turned in, (a good TE or FB would easily seal him. Remember you don't have to knock someone off their feet to seal them.) 4:37 mark
* Needs to use his hands better.
* See above - takes too long to get to his counter move on pass rushing plays.
*

All of his negatives can be corrected with coaching. All of his positives, for the most part, are God given. He appears to be a 'hungry' player. Just plays the game with the correct mentality. His play on the field would lead me to believe he is a high character guy. In other words, he never gives up on a play, he appears to hustle at all times, and is not a big celebrations type person.

The NFL network is a joke. For all the good Mayock is, he spoke around Hatcher because he did had anything substantive to say. Yet the will wrongly critique this pick, b/c they didn't do the homework. Not Mayock in particular, just the media.

Thanks guys. I knew many of you wanted to see some vids on him. So hopefully this helps remove some of the curiousity factor off him.

Dough Boy, your comments are very encouraging. Can't wait to see what they say about the guy at the vet minicamp.

Well that explains what you mean... :)

Scroll to the bottom of the page and click Free. And then I believe it starts automatically.

Chose the "Free" download. It takes you to a page with a 60 second countdown, which you have to wait for unless you want to pay for member ship. Once the 60 secs tick off, you have to type the multicolored letters/numbers into the box on the middle right. Then the download starts.

Thanks WG. He has great ball awareness and his closing speed is ridiculous. Definately raw........but could be a force.

Agree. I think he can be DE in 4-3 too. He seems to have that closing speed to be a very good DE in 4-3 too. Plus I like some of the nastiness he showed in some of the tackles.

From what I have seen in the video could be a steal in the draft like some of the news we have heard. Oh, Thanks WG, great job. Thanks to original DVD contributor too.

WG, that took a lot of work. Thank you very much. That is what makes this board the best on the net.
