Man, this infuriates me, we are playing for our lives over the next few weeks and have zero margin for error and I don't see how Romo, Garret, Wade, Jerry or anyone can trust this guy. His drops are devastating and could cost us a chance at the playoffs.

How is he any better than Hurd?

They have to cut his looks down the rest of this year and spread it to Hurd and O-tree.

Then, in the off season or before, make Williams catch 1000's of tennis balls out of a ball machine until he doesn't drop anything. Even if he does this, I'm not sure that can help someone overcome nerves or being afraid of getting hit over the middle. I don't blame him for being scared, I would be too, but I'm not a #1 draft pick playing for the Cowboys!

Someone in management has got to make a tough call and pull back his reps the rest of this year, see what he can do in training camp next year and if things don't improve vastly and quickly in 2010, cut your losses and move on. I'm afraid we're going to lose Hurd and find out he's a player after he's on someone elses squad. The guy has worked his butt off and deserves a shot. I can't believe he couldn't have had the same results or better than Roy if he had been given the opportunity.

Does anyone know the inside scoop on how it was decided to trade for Roy?

How much analysis was done into how he performed in Detriot?

Did the scouts highly recommend him?

Or, was it a Jerry fantasy football move?

Did the scouts see something in Detriot that he's not doing here?

It's sickening what we gave up for this guy, especially when you consider we probably could have signed him for free and grabbed Michael Oher with the #1 we gave up and still had the 3rd round pick to grab someone else.

Augh!!! This deal has proven to be a disaster so far!

He lacks the concentration needed to be a great wide receiver. He can't make the catch with defenders flashing in front of him or when he thinks contact is coming. Making the tough catches and holding on over the middle should be his bread and butter, given his size.

Every deficiency comes down to his lack of concentration. His terrible routes. His dropped passes. His complete dissappearing acts...

RW.
Biggest disappointment (personnel-wise) of my Dallas fandom. Ever.
Hate his lack of talent.
Hate his attitude ever more.

What a letdown.

What annoys me most (other then his annoying first down celebration) is when he doesn't catch the ball and immediately jumps up looking for a flag.

Yes, lots of receivers do that but for some reason it annoys me more when he does it :) .

Yea, we gotted raped on that deal.

However, at some point we have to just accept the fact that we made a mistake and move on with Roy in a diminished role or eventually release him. We have to look at what is best for the team and not worry about what we gave up for him.

Nothing we can do about the trade now, but we cant let the trade be the reason he gets reps. Look on the bright side, at least we are not Chicago and gave up 2 first rounders for Cutler!!!!!

I wish I knew what the answer was in reagrds to why Roy Williams doesn't seem to be as good as he once was or where he fits in with this team in the future.

Good stuff.

I hope romo looks to other players from now on. Don't give Roy another chance to be sorry.

Does anyone have a video of Roys drop vs. NO? I think that would be kindof funny to see... a montage of his latest and greatest drops as a Cowboy.

OK, maybe funny is not the right word... at all.

maybe you can go find it, then make a montage of Austin's drops, his were just as bad, especially the big drop in the NO game when nobody was near him...

The real sick thing is that Jerry, yup Jerry will continue to start him even though he is hurting the team and we have a chance to make it to the playoffs. When we don't throw to him often in games, we win (7-1), which I think is what Romo has figured out and what these guys are alluding to on the video. If this was truly a Romo-friendly team, Williams would only be in during garbage time. Think how much better we would be if any of our other receivers were playing in his stead.

I tend to agree. At least rotate Ogletree in and out of the starting line up. They did it with Scandrick and Jenkins, why not with RW and O-tree? Of course an argument can also be made for Crayton and Hurd. I just want to see some other player's numbers called. Maybe that'll motivate RW.

It's in this video.

And so is his Touchdown.

And his monster catch on 3rd and 7.

It's things like this that keep me from letting go of my hatred for Jerry. I want to like him, I want to support him and then he opens his mouth or I hear things like this and all I want to do is sucker punch him

If Jerry could ever figure it out, we'd be lucky as hell since we know he's never leaving

I'm for seeing more Hurd, I think he can be every bit and more the player Roy has been, then sprinkle in O-tree as much as possible.

The difference between Miles is that this was the exception and not the norm but with Roy it's become the norm and not the exception.

If Roy performed at a consistently high level as Miles or Witten, we'd all be disappointed with that key 3rd down drop but would know it was completely out of character.

Witten and Miles have had drops this year, but they have become so rare and minor in comparison to all the great plays they make, there's simply no way I can hold it against them, especially when perfection is not an option.

I don't care what we gave for Roy, what we pay him, etc, etc..I simply don't trust him and I don't see how the team can move forward with no margin for error and expect to count on him when he has repeatedly shown he will let them down.

It's become much like Folk, how bad does it have to get before the staff realizes Roy can't be counted on?

That decision could ultimately be the difference between us going to the playoffs or missing them or even worse by costing us a playoff win.

The Folk missed field goals and Roys key drops are real momentum killers and give life to the opponent.

Lots of receivers drop the ball. It's a question of WHEN they drop the ball and other plays they make that make up for the drops. There's really not much of a comparison between Austin and Williams in that department.

I can't argue with you. Hurd hasn't given me a reason not to believe. Same with O-tree.
