Man, this infuriates me, we are playing for our lives over the next few weeks and have zero margin for error and I don't see how Romo, Garret, Wade, Jerry or anyone can trust this guy. His drops are devastating and could cost us a chance at the playoffs.
How is he any better than Hurd?
They have to cut his looks down the rest of this year and spread it to Hurd and O-tree.
Then, in the off season or before, make Williams catch 1000's of tennis balls out of a ball machine until he doesn't drop anything. Even if he does this, I'm not sure that can help someone overcome nerves or being afraid of getting hit over the middle. I don't blame him for being scared, I would be too, but I'm not a #1 draft pick playing for the Cowboys!
Someone in management has got to make a tough call and pull back his reps the rest of this year, see what he can do in training camp next year and if things don't improve vastly and quickly in 2010, cut your losses and move on. I'm afraid we're going to lose Hurd and find out he's a player after he's on someone elses squad. The guy has worked his butt off and deserves a shot. I can't believe he couldn't have had the same results or better than Roy if he had been given the opportunity.
Does anyone know the inside scoop on how it was decided to trade for Roy?
How much analysis was done into how he performed in Detriot?
Did the scouts highly recommend him?
Or, was it a Jerry fantasy football move?
Did the scouts see something in Detriot that he's not doing here?
It's sickening what we gave up for this guy, especially when you consider we probably could have signed him for free and grabbed Michael Oher with the #1 we gave up and still had the 3rd round pick to grab someone else.
Augh!!! This deal has proven to be a disaster so far!
