I don't understand why Cowboys fans are lurking in the shadows waiting to pounce on the guy because 1) it's taken him longer than expected to make plays for this team (and yes, he has made some good plays) and 2) Dallas paid so much for him and to him (you didn't, so don't worry about it).
I'm hoping the good things I've seen from Williams, including an important catch against the Saints, continue and abound.
For others, it seems they are only looking for the car wrecks, so they can rubberneck for a while.

I think too much is made of Romo's "trust." He has said several times that he throws it to the open receiver. I haven't seen evidence that that isn't the case. (Plus, Phillips has said Williams makes some outstanding catches in practice that I would think bolster Romo's "trust.")
Up until the NO drop, we had seen improved play from Williams, which should be an encouraging sign, but all some people can see is the negative: This drop, the fumble in Green Bay ...
Now, I'm not excusing his mistakes, but it just bothers me that some fans seem to want to crucify him when he makes one (mostly based on preconceived notions of how good or bad he is). Me? I want to see more of the two-TD performances. I want to see more plays like the one he made on the sideline against Oakland when he skyed to catch the ball. Those things are encouraging to me.
I guess I don't have enough Scrooge in me to focus on the negatives.
