My local broadcast is saying the field looks much better than anyone expected, but given this fields history that's not saying much. Looks good enough to play on though. I stand corrected.

With a bad field and all the injuries already, is there any reason a starter should be in this game?

With only one more opportunity to get the starters sharp for opening day you really have to play them some because none of the starters will play in the final preseason game. If the field is that big of a concern then they shouldn't play the game.

I wouldn't play anybody that has sneezed today, has bum knees, or tricky ankles....

This isn't really comparable, but I remember back in the 1990's when they actually cancelled a preseason game because the artificial turf was coming apart. I can't recall if it was at the old Vet in Philly or the Astrodome in Houston, though.

That was back in 2001 at the old Vet Philly vs Baltimore.

The turf was so bad at the old Vet during the game they canceled that one of the coaches stuck his hand between the seam and lifted up a section of the turf and you could see the cement underneath. They would press down on one section of the turf to try and secure it and another section would lift up.
