For a guy his size, yes he is slow. If you're that small and you aren't fast or EXTREMELY quick (he's not), then you don't have many options.

Plus, the players in the NFL are a lot faster then the ones in college.

I like the player. As I said before in this thread, I thought he was better then Sweed even last year (it was obvious). But the kid will likely never be much of anything but a special teamer in the NFL.

That said, I wouldn't mind bringing him in (6th round pick or later) and having him compete with Hurd for the #5 spot. I want winners on the team, and Quan Cosby is a winner. But to say he's fast or really quick would be false. He's a "try hard" guy, and there's nothing wrong with that, but he's definitely NOT fast and only has solid quickness. IMO, we'd have been better off keeping Amendola.

How do you know he isn't fast? Have you ever seen him run in person? I would say his 40 time says otherwise. He looked pretty damn good in the fiesta bowl against their all world corner.

I'm all for Churning the bottom of the roster.

Hurd, Stanback and all those at the bottom of the depth chart at their position need a wake up call or an eviction notice.

I don't know anything about the guy but he seems like hes got his head on straight.

Don't really care about age, don't care about speed, if the guy can play and has the right attitude and mentality then he is definitely worth a look. Stanback and Hurd haven't shown anything to suggest that their spots should be safe.

He is only slightly better than average athlete but plays his heart out.

He's a talented overachiever and hard worker.

He reminds me of Deion Branch and I could see New England liking this guy.

hell no this is just shorthorn bias he's not even the 12th best receiver in this class he's just a glorified ut version of patrick crayton small slow he aint gonna cut it we have bigger issues and getting an overrated version of what we already have is not going to solve them

Freakin' amazing how in two different posts I stress the difference between football speed and a 40 time yet there's still that mental midget out there that just can't figure it out.

Is Miles Austin going to be resigned? What does this team think of Sam Hurd? Is T.O. coming back? Isaiah Stanback?

There are not a lot of questions about the WR spot on this team right now, but there could be soon.

Quan Cosby is a guy who is going to be looked at as a very good slot WR once he gets into the NFL and he's already in Texas...

Right now he's slotted as a 3rd or 4th rounder by NFLDraftsScout.com, but he could get up into the 2nd round if he has a good showing at the combine.

Watching the interview you have to be impressed with his maturity and this team needs more guys like that on this roster.

He's coming in at 26 years old which may be a detriment to some teams, but I can't see that scaring the Cowboys from showing interest in him prior to the draft.

And lastly I know people are going to sigh when I say this.

But...

He kind of reminds me of Wes Welker with his short choppy quick running style.

Plus the kid blocks...

I think hes a worker when it comes to having to do something....has a very good work ethic...yes he blocks he does all those good things...he runs nice routes....i think can be better than Hurd if he were to come and make an immediate impact.....GREAT ATTITUDE,,,and maturity aint a problem:star:..

Not sure why everyone thinks he could compete for the number 5 spot with Sam Hurd...He could very likely not even be on this team next year..He's a FA this year along with Miles, I would think the cowboys are just going to sign Austin back. Stanback has shown NOTHING, so I'm not sure why he's even in the discussion. If this guy can play and has a winning attitude I'm all for him coming in and being our number 5 reciever. I do think we need to get younger at WR though anyway. Crayton is pushin 30 and TO 35...

"small, slow, not quick"

So some of you posters must be Michael Jordan to make those comments. 4.4 is plenty fast. Most receivers don't run that. The NFL draft is too concerned with the draft fashion show instead of players. Yet every year its the team full of players that win championships instead of the pageant contestants.

IMO we have 2 WRs right now: Owens and RoyE. Austin could be resigned but frankly, I'd rather they bring in Johnnie Lee Higgins (not just for homer reasons either). BUT...JLH would work best in the slot coming out on slants. He's a WC WR and we know Garrett can't game plan for guys with great skills/ability.

IMO, Hurd just doesn't have the speed/skills to get it done and has never really contributed on ST. Stanback is an oft-injured lost cause. Open up the roster spot.

If he fell far enough and showed some promise I wouldn't be opposed to them replacing Hurd or Stanback with him, or another WR that they feel is going to give them more return.

Though Hurd is a pretty good special teams player.
