The embedded player did play it all. Thanks!

It kinda looked like he didn't know what Greg was trying to do when he said those things. Like if he was trying to help RW or start more controversy.

man RW wants Ellis to be a RB for the giants he would cause a train wreck. It is obv the stuff that Ellis said didn't need to be said shouldn't have been said and it was not his place to stay it.

I thought his reasoning for wanting to work out individually made a lot of sense. When I coach my basketball team, I give players that show up 15-20 minutes early specific things to work on to build their skills. These are often things we don't get to work or emphasize for individual players during a team practice.

His reasoning for "I hope they don't throw the ball at me" still seemed kind of weak, but I guess I can understand it.

Bottom line...he sounds like he's focused on improving, and that's a good thing. He may not exactly care what his critics say, but I think that deep down he knows that he's got to improve his coverage. The medicine ball training in the pool and the fact that he seems focused during his workouts all point to the greater possibility of a RW that is more similar to his first two seasons.

Only in Dallas can a guy work hard, shed a ton of weight in the process, AND show up to workout before everybody else and somehow get criticized for not working hard enough.

Yeesh.

I like Roy Williams the individual. He is awsome when it comes to giving back. No one can take that away from him.

But.....When it comes to RW the football player I do have one issue. The guy can play in the gym all he wants. That to me is not his problem. Anyone who has ever played db or any other position for that matter knows you have to watch game film to be succesful at your position.

Roy said there was a 50/50 on a receiver going left/right. Well, why not watch a little game film and learn their tendencies Roy? You get paid to play the game. But maybe a guy like Roy hasn't figured out that team chemistry and doing the little things off the field are what matter most.

With the drama queens we have, it's a wonder why this team always folds come playoff time.

I'm pretty sure the video compression or ratio or whatever skewed everything skinnier.

Not that he hasn't lost weight or anything, but I don't think you can really tell from that video. Maybe theebs will tell me I'm wrong, or maybe it's just skewed in the browser (I'm downloading the file now), but that's my guess.

Juraszek mentioned last year that Roy was the first one in the weight room every morning, so it's not even something new this year.

I heard plenty of good things in that interview and his workout reasons sure made sense.

I don't think Ellis did his friend any favors in his interview that's for sure and I give Roy credit for handling it as well as he has. A lot of players wouldn't have.

I have no doubts about his sincerity or about how hard he's working at it. But I attribute his recent struglles with the cerebral aspect of the game rather than the physical part so I hope that he's spending time in the film room as well as the weight room.

And I hope another year's experience in the current defense helps as well.

I can be critical and still hope that he can turn things around and improve.

Didn't Roy lose 15 pounds before last season so he would be quicker? All that did was make him worse in run support and still horrible in pass coverage. I don't care how much weight he loses, that isn't his problem. I agree that his head is the problem, and until he figures out what he is supposed to be doing out there, he is a liability.

Maybe what Ellis did will be the last piece to finally waking RW up. Its clear be badmouthed in the media and by the fans didn't mean enough to him so maybe a teammate hinting around at it will.
