I liked the clarification of his comments before - he's right that, when you are one on one with a receiver in the open field, it really is a 50/50 proposition.

At this point, I'm done talking about this. The situation is what it is, and he is who he is. He's a Cowboy, so let's just hope he picks up his game this season and becomes the player that we all know and love(d).

Roy will never have the same cover skills as a FS if he can get back to laying the wood Roy and this defense will be fine.

With the drama queens we have, it's a wonder why this team always folds come playoff time.

you mean in here or on the cowboys team itself? : )

Bad statement on Roy's part asking for "supporters" and not "fans." That "fans" are only there for the good times. If that's the case then i'm assuming that all of us were "supporters" during the Campo era?

Yeah, Roy... we, the "fans", just want our team to improve and not have to hold our breaths everytime the ball is in the air and you're on the field.

That was the only thing that got to me, I liked the rest of his comments but not that. Fans are there through it all, we've been through te bad over the past 10 years, last few years have been better and hopefully we can get back to great.

I'm still not buying his cover comments though, he should really have said something like "what I meant was, I hoe I'm covering the guy so well that the QB can't throw his way" - would have saved a lot of people hating on him.

Let's go Roy anyway, I'm rooting for the dude.

Roy can say "Green" and people will say "He should have said Red! cut him.", "Green isn't as bright as Yellow, cut him!", or "Roy wants more money, cut him!" People can take anything he says and spin it.

Great video, thanks. It was nice seeing him actually respond, seeing his tone, attitude, and body language--something you cant get with print and lets you know what he really is saying.

If the man wants to lift alone, let him lift alone...We will see his performance come regular season and judge that.

No it isn't. If you pay attention to the receiver's tendencies, there is no way it's 50/50. Plus, if your aware of the surrounding area, where help may possibly be, you know the receiver more likely than not is going to break to a different direction.

The Water Resistance work combined with the weight training should help with a chronic shoulder issue that has limited Roy's explosive tackling. Hence, my prediction of the 2008 version of #38 crushing heads and killing running backs in the fall.

I see nothing going on with his comments or his actions that should be causing all this noise.

Greg Ellis is right in saying what he said.

You can bet that when Ellis says something like he has, that other players are saying the same thing in their private comments to each other..

"what's up with Roy, where is Roy, isn't he keeping a distance lately.., etc."

So this is a good wakeup call for Roy to see what others are seeing and possibly saying.

I think we'll have a much improved RW and secondary overall with Camps here to coach and 3 very high caliber players coming shortly from the draft and FA to help the front line players be better.

I'm officially not worrying about the whole situation from this point on.

If these guys can just stay healthy, we are in for the best secondary in the history of this team..IMO.

Ok, so then when the season rolls around, and Roy is one on one with Cooley and knows his tendency is to outside, don't blast him for getting burnt to the inside because he overplayed the outside. It's a no win! If he overplays the tendency of a reciever or TE he's gonna get burnt the other way... Then get destroyed by media, fans, etc... for not covering the route properly... This statement holds no water....:star:

That's exactly it. If you cover a guy 10 times, you might know all of his tendencies and correctly predict which way he'll go 80 percent of the time. It's those other two times when you might get burned.

Exactly, so who, in their right mind would say "I got burnt, I really hope the QB throws it to my man, so I can get trashed in the media this week!" Of course he's gonna hope they don't throw it to his man at that point!

Nice work theebs.

Someone already touched on it but I cannot believe a guy who does all the good stuff that Roy does is constantly bashed for being some sort of coward.

that's cause a lot of people including myself don't care about what he does off the field. i'm not rooting for him at church or his foundations i'm rooting for him when he's on the field. as long as he doesn't kill anyone, rape anyone, or hurt little kids i don't care what he does off the field as long as he helps us get a W on sunday.

Finding God, learning a new defense, 50/50 chance on receivers....PLEEEEZE!

Jerry is paying this guy tons of money and until he starts playing better, he's going to get criticized and deservedly so.

Jerry's is not paying Roy millions to be a good guy off the field. He's paying him to be a elite safety. So far, Jerry not getting his money worth.

Roy lacks the confidence needed to play in the Defensive Backfield if he truly believes his chances are 50/50.

The biggest problem right now is he is getting beat more often than not. That is why opposing QB's are foaming at the mouth when they play against him. Lets not forget, he is a safety playing against tight ends and in many situations is getting help from the LB's. The team isn't exactly asking him to cover Marvin Harrison man-man every week.

I don't think anyone is upset at the fact that Roy gets beat in coverage (it happens to everyone), the problem really is that he is so out of position and getting beat badly. Player's don't fear RW like they used to. It's obvious the guys playing against us have been watching tape of RW and learning his tendencies.

AS a DB, confidence is the most important part of the game. He doesn't seem to have alot of confidence in his most recent interviews.
