I see nothing going on with his comments or his actions that should be causing all this noise.

Greg Ellis is right in saying what he said.

You can bet that when Ellis says something like he has, that other players are saying the same thing in their private comments to each other..

"what's up with Roy, where is Roy, isn't he keeping a distance lately.., etc."

So this is a good wakeup call for Roy to see what others are seeing and possibly saying.

I think we'll have a much improved RW and secondary overall with Camps here to coach and 3 very high caliber players coming shortly from the draft and FA to help the front line players be better.

I'm officially not worrying about the whole situation from this point on.

If these guys can just stay healthy, we are in for the best secondary in the history of this team..IMO.

I agree. If this were Tony Romo and he was saying that Crayton had to improve, nobody would say a word about it. Everybody would back Tony 100%. Not saying they should or shouldn't back Tony in a situation like that. Just saying that leaders sometimes have to call out players if they believe it's needed. May not always be 100% right but in the end, it almost always serves improvement. If this makes Roy a better player, I'm all for it. Certainly there can't be any more focus on Roy then there already is.

Was Cutler wrong for calling Marshall out? I did not believe he was.

That's exactly it. If you cover a guy 10 times, you might know all of his tendencies and correctly predict which way he'll go 80 percent of the time. It's those other two times when you might get burned.

So then it wouldn't be 50-50 then, and Roy is blowing hot-air, right?

if i want to truly lead a team, i won't sell out the favorite fan bashboy to the media. i'll talk to him behind closed doors and settle team problems in the same place.

i have a problem with any player using the media to get at another player.

in the end it usually serves to divide, not build a "team". would you follow or want to work with someone who goes to the media to complain about you vs coming to you?

Ok, so then when the season rolls around, and Roy is one on one with Cooley and knows his tendency is to outside, don't blast him for getting burnt to the inside because he overplayed the outside. It's a no win! If he overplays the tendency of a reciever or TE he's gonna get burnt the other way... Then get destroyed by media, fans, etc... for not covering the route properly... This statement holds no water....:star:

Notice your words over-play... Pretty subjective word, isn't it? One can play tendencies without over-playing the route...

true. but at this point roy could make 9 great plays, get burnt on 1 and we'll have a week of roy bashing for his 1 bad play. for whatever reason i put to all parties involved, roy is in a bad place. the bulk falls on him but it's not easy when minds are set to change them.

When Roy says he doesn't want fans, but supporters, then maybe he should give all the money back from the fans that bought his jersey a couple of years ago and now are disgusted with his play....

It is the business of football that allows Mr. Roy Williams to do all his charitable work.

To down-play football in his life is biting the very hand that fed him...

So then if the player is traded do you want your money back from the jersey as well.

Also I believe its an NFL item I doubt the money goes to Roy. He is out their playing.

If you want to split hairs the last 2 yrs in the playoffs he had nothing to do with the loss. The ball was in the hands of the offense with a chance to win the game.

That is all any offense can ask for.

Problem here is you don't know what has been done or said. You don't know if team mates have reached out to Roy or if he's even taken calls. I just don't see Ellis doing something like this out of the blue. I could be wrong. Maybe nobody has made an attempt to get with Roy but I don't know one way or the other.

I've worked with all sorts of people. I've worked with people how use highly visable means of motivation. In the end, you gotta do what gets results.

I do know that leading isn't always easy. Sometimes you gotta rattle cages.

you're right. i and no one else not there knows what's been said, but ellis is talking and people *will* take it out of context usually to fit their pre-disposed notions.

not long ago ellis was a whipping boy, now suddenly the roy bashers love ellis cause he sold out roy and "validated" their bashing.

you want to keep team unity, leave it alone and don't so dragging it out in public.

Don't kid yourself. Ellis will never be popular in Dallas. He can register 20 sacks, be dead on with Roy and be named humanitarian of the year and somebody is going to post a need to trade Ellis for (fill in player name here) one week after the end of the season. What's more, there will be 10K guys supporting him on this board. :laugh2:

well he is by those who hate roy more. : )

in the end i just prefer team problems and comments are not a matter of public record. would you talk to your teammate if you knew at any time what you said would be twisted and put in the news?

maybe Ellis couldn't get a hold of him. maybe he figured since he knows Roy listens to his critics in the media that's how he could get in touch with him.

lots of maybes, but in the end i just feel this is a very bad way to handle problems that usually causes more to fix before you can get to the one you were talking about.

Juraszek mentioned last year that Roy was the first one in the weight room every morning, so it's not even something new this year.
I'm assuming he does that for some reason other than avoiding having to associate with his teammates.

Could be he likes working out by himself (I do), and early in the morning (I don't).

It really annoys me how articles and blogs have "quotes" in them from players and coaches that only indicate a small portion of what is said and its twisted to be perceived how the writer wants it to come across.

Then, you see a video of the full interview showing everything that was said and it sounds different than the way it was portrayed in the article.

Calvin Watkins only quoted a small portion of what Roy said and then posts a blog title saying "Roy doesn't care what you think." Hmm I wonder what the motivation was behind Calvin's writeup.

Finally someone uses logic on all these so called bloggers.
