Exactly ..... something he was holding back.

I have worked with people like him before ..... you are either in his click or you are the enemy to be badmouthed.

Your opinion and I'm sure there are others who agree with such a depressing thought.

I'd rather have a good enough season to where the team is truly competing for a shot at the ring.

The super bowl is what these guys play for, not 1-15.

Worked with people?

There are examples of this all over this message board.

Figured I would add the segment where he talks about the Eagles...

I noticed the vid has some sync problems at the one minute mark and then a the 2 minute mark, lol.

This is the full segment though, no editing.

I hate the guy, but I am still amazed at his courage to go play in that Super Bowl with a bum leg.

this is true but they play to win it not to get there and lose.

like you said it's just my opinion but losing the Superbowl is the worst kind of loss you can have and I wasn't even alive in the 70s to see those 3 losses.

But I thought he had no complaints about what was going on with Romo and Witten? LOL.

Sounds like someone is still a little upset that he got the boot from Dallas.

The Eagles didn't pay him his true value, didn't back him up in the MNF thing with Nicolette Sheridan, didn't honor his 100th TD accomplishment and didn't back him up in the McNabb fued...

But that's his fav team and that's the situation he would have liked to have worked out better.

He's an idiot.

This man was never a true Dallas Cowboy.

Good. I never wanted him playing for the Cowboys anyway.

super bowl and 20 TD's in 21 games are awesome...

but doesn't playing with jerry rice and setting the all-time single game receptions record in san fran, the organization that drafted him, top that?

No. Nothing tops playing for and/or winning a championship. Absolutely nothing.

Hopefully the NFL has zero players with that outlook and attitude cause it flat out sucks.

Being in the Superbowl with a shot to be a champion is always, always, always better than going 1-15 or not making it at all.

I'm a fan not a player. I'm talking about not playing for it with a chance to win. I'm talking about if we lost it. I will have no satisfaction in losing the Superbowl. I'd rather not go than go and lose it.

I understand that and I still think it sucks. If you go then you've got a shot to win it. Period.

If everyone had the attitude "I'd rather we not go if we might lose" then no teams would ever need to or want to go cause someone is going to lose.

I'd rather get there and lose then to not get there at all. I didn't live through the 70's but I certainly wouldn't trade a single one of those Superbowl losses for not going.

you're not hearing me, William. I'm talking about if we lost. which would be after the fact we went and had a shot to win.

and once again i'm a fan not a player. I don't want any of our Cowboys even thinking about losing whether it's week 1 or in the Superbowl.

It's all about attention for TO. In Philly, he and they had that tremendous season, and those idiot fans loved him like nowhere else. In San Fran he could never live up to Rice, and here he got booed at home in one his final games.

:hammer:

i think you're right. i don't think it's about, "we had a chance to make history," and "that's why you play the game," etc. i think it was about, "that was the biggest stage i've ever been on."

because even when he broke the single-game receptions record, he was still the #2 wide receiver behind rice, and always would be.

on the flip side, would you rather be able to say that you were on the chargers team that lost to the 49ers in the super bowl, or that you played with dan marino for several seasons?

In my opinion, he's 100% correct. Parcells never wanted him. It's what I've been saying since the day he was signed. Parcells is the type of coach who would take his chances with a cokehead like Lawrence Taylor than on an idiot like Owens. I only wish that Parcells would someone day speak on the matter without reservation and remove all lingering doubt.

It's still hilarious how he continuely repeats the "I got blindsided" line. Why any 13+ year veteran, in this day and age of the salary cap/free agency, with his history of team/player relations, would ever think that a few conversations with Jerry Jones made him an untouchable is, to say the least, incredulous. It's akin to someone:
  • grabbing a paint can
  • finding a stretch of high traffic interstate
  • cautiously lay down a makeshift sidewalk
  • wave a car down and ask the driver to cross the highway
--and anticipate hearing the victim scream moments before impact, "I didn't know a tractor trailer was going to hit me..!"

But hey, that's Terrell Owens. Then again, an ancient Chinese proverb does say that Donovan McNabb would not know that NFL games could end in a tie...
