This is correct. He was tight ends coach in green bay with McCarthy for a few I believe
I agree with this.Don't know much about him but I'm glad we are at least interviewing several outside candidates. Fresh eyes are definitely needed.
Steichen is interviewing with colts again i thought. Would be 2nd interview. If he gets it they likely promote Johnson to ocI agree with this.
However, most of these guys link back to McCarthy in some sort of way. I would like to see a guy like Brian Johnson who worked with Dak before.
Mikes friends have to eat too.Why are they interviewing OC's? Is he going to hold McCarthy's clipboard? Pick up his drycleaning? Wash his car during practice?
McCarthy is now the OC. He's calling the plays. It will be his offense. His play designs. They have already drummed out Moore as a scapegoat. Are they now setting up another one?
Playcalling is just one responsibility, you still need at least an OC.Why are they interviewing OC's? Is he going to hold McCarthy's clipboard? Pick up his drycleaning? Wash his car during practice?

They haven't interviewed any OCs. They're not looking for a real OC.Why are they interviewing OC's? Is he going to hold McCarthy's clipboard? Pick up his drycleaning? Wash his car during practice?

Well if you get a guy who knows your system and can work separately with the O while you are coaching the team it helps. Just more eyes and ears to get guys on the same page. Maybe that guy then grows to be the next HC somewhere with fresh ideas. I don’t know these guys so not sure if that’s the case but that’s my answer to “why get an OC”Why are they interviewing OC's? Most teams that have head coaches who call plays also have an OC. Rams do, Green Bay does. A lot goes into formulating a game plan. Why are they interviewing OC's? Is he going to hold McCarthy's clipboard? Pick up his drycleaning? Wash his car during practice?

Moore wasn't the scapegoat he left on his own.....Offensive Coordinator does more than just calls plays. A head coach needs a offensive coordinator. Why are they interviewing OC's? Is he going to hold McCarthy's clipboard? Pick up his drycleaning? Wash his car during practice?

For the exact reason, the Rooney rule exists… The old boys club. Why are they interviewing OC's? Is he going to hold McCarthy's clipboard? Pick up his drycleaning? Wash his car during practice?

The Rooney rule is stupid and useless. For the exact reason, the Rooney rule exists… The old boys club.
It’s attempt to fight nepotism and guys like mike Nolan getting late in life gift contracts from old pals ..The Rooney rule is stupid and useless.
Silliness. A franchise should have the freedom to pick whoever they want. It doesn't fight anything at all. All of these teams forced to interview one minority. That's the last thing I would find imortant. Pandering to minorities instead of hiring on merit ruins the product. It’s attempt to fight nepotism and guys like mike Nolan getting late in life gift contracts from old pals ..
