It's more than just liking or not liking. If a guy's a good source of inside info and you write something he doesn't like, that source will very likely dry up. There's a very straightforward conflict of interest.

Swings both ways. There are some players who are sources that use their media buddies as platforms to paint themselves in a good light. There have been a few of those types over the years.

Doug Free is the lynchpin of the OL. It is his veteran leadership and presence that allows the rest of the players on the line to shine the way that they do.

He may not be the best player on the OL. But he contributes in so many other ways.

Maybe you should consider that. Before kicking one of our veteran leaders to the curb in such a belittling manner.

Doug Free is not the lynchpin. Just because his the veteran doesn't mean he is automatically the leader. The players on the oline shine because their talented. Free does contribute in some way or fashion. But your giving him to much credit.

JPP is going to be a struggle.

Green was really good at LT in the game that Tyron missed but unfortunately Green can't stay healthy.

Free is generally "good enough" but if Dak gets hurt or get strip-sacked resulting in a loss, it will likely be due to Free.

No guarantees he gets swamped by JPP but Free should have help or at least run at him. Olivier Vernon also offers a full no holds barred battle with Tyron Smith. What I think we have in our favor is a completely different running back than the one they played in Sept. and a WR that can play against the best CB they have. Beasley is going to kill them.

Sources don't dry up because they don't like what you write. They're anonymous so why would they care? Sources dry up when you out them.

Doug Free was really bad in the Vikings game.

The local media, especially the people that work for the team just won't criticize some players. Free is at the top of this list.

The radio guys will hint at Free being bad and guys like Brad Sham, Bryan Broaddus and Mickey will come unglued and start making all kinds of excuses or just totally deny it.

On the flip side the media will dog on some players repeatedly.

I assume it is due to personal interactions with the players.

They hated RoMc the day he arrived. My guess is that he was disrespectful to them.

Free on the other hand must give them gifts daily.

They asked Brad about Free's terrible game and not only would he not acknowledge it, but he started saying that Free was almost as good as Tyron.

I find it bizarre.

Unfortunately many many fans take their cues from these media guys in terms of what they think about players. Then those fans come here and repeat the narrative.

Free was being beaten like a drum. Good thing Dak is built solid or he'd have been Romo'd. The really sad thing is that the staff doesn't see it and give him help... Like I said, luckily Dak is rugged.

That's terrible. The media shouldn't be scared of repercussions from the organization. They should give their fans and listeners the truth. That's what's wrong w the media these days.

The club is 11-1 with this useless stiff playing!!! lol. People will always need a whipping boy. Free has always been an underappreciated Cowboy..much like Terrence Williams at WO.

Just because the team is 11-1 doesn't mean the team doesn't have sucky players and Free is one of them. Maybe in the first of Fred beards years they needed his leadership but the whole line looks to Fred beard now. Nearly every time the qb has been pressured it has come from Free's side. Now, I know someone has to be the worst in any given group. I just wish the staff would recognize it and give help to his side, whether it was a chip on the way out to the route or a flat out double team from the tight end or jumbo joe. Just recognize where the weakness is and play accordingly.

It really is a shame Green is hurt because Free needs replacing

People can mock X all they want but it doesn't make Free any better than he is

This team is way too loyal to guys like Free, Carr, Hayden and Wilbur...nice guys and try-hards but they just aren't good enough
