You're the one that needs to stop being delusional, its only an argument in your mind. I'm tired of the uninformed calling Dirk a horrendous defensive player when Dirk has been an above average defender for a PF for a while now. Like 30YardSlant said, Dirk would either get layups or wide open jumpshots the majority of the time with Duncan guarding him. Duncan, on the other hand, would shoot his post ups and struggle since he's been averaging under 15 points per game over the last two years.

maybe you should check PER and minutes before you just start spouting out numbers like you know what they mean. again, please tell me when dirk was guarding the best big man on the floor in a crunch time situation? the answer is never. maybe you should pay attention the next time the spurs are on TV and take off your homer glasses, duncan is still athletic and quick, he just isnt a freak of nature like he was back in the day. I hope to god the mavs put dirk on duncan in a playoff game with 10 seconds left and the game tied, duncan will score or miss an easy layup.

here is a highlight reel of his 03 finals performance! notice how less than half of the highlights are him scoring, most of it is him making amazing passes or blocking the crap out of people! there is absolutely nothing dirk can do to get to his level
