I love the fact that he tweaks his system to cater to the strengths of his players instead of trying to force them to do something they arent good at. That has always been my biggest complaint about Parcells.

I will go on record as saying that at the end of the day he was the best candidate available at the time and I think he will improve the team.
 
Until I see the completion of the staff, I hold the right to change my mind. As of right now, I am on board with the signing.

The players will love and respect him for respecting their talent and desire to win too!

PS: Bum Phillips is a Treasure.

If you dont have an opinion one way or another then dont think like were asking you to. Im just saying if you do then you should put it here.
 
ill go on record. of all the candidates that interviewed, Wade by far had the most experience, and was the best qualified, and im so relieved it wasnt Norv Turner, whewwwww.

this decision does make alot of sense, Jerry has spent alot of high draft picks, and spent a ton of money in FA to build a defense here. and Wade Phillips is the right person to keep the 3-4 and get this thing on the right track.

i am worried about the offense, one thing u can say about BP is he did revive our offense, especially with crappy QB's, and im so hopeful we keep that going in the right direction. now with all that said... im confident that Wade can get us back to the playoffs, winning a SB ....hmmm 50-50 at best.
 
Wade will build on the foundation Parcells put in place. I'm in favor...

he will pass a lot of experience on to our young defense, into being truly great. and he's a proven winner - who else out there can say that? I think we'll win our first playoff game(s) in a decade next year. I'm pretty optimistic right now... as for the offense, Garrett will at least be more innovative that Bill was last year...
 
I don't believe in Phillips.

Feel free to throw this in my face if he proves me wrong. Chances are I'll be so happy about the Cowboys' success that being proven wrong on a message board won't be much to worry about.
 
I'm for him, all the way. I want to see our defense torture opponents' offenses. And I want to see Garrett get imaginative with the offense, i.e. Sean Payton in NO.
 
I'm happy with the hiring. It makes the most sense.


And he (Wade) isn't Norv so I'm happy.
 
I'm thrilled it's not Norv and reasonably happy that it is Phillips. I'm not completely without concerns but he was the guy I thought would and should get the job among the guys available.

i don't know that i'm FOR him, but he's a cowboy now, so I support him fully and wish him well.
 
I like it. It's going to be nice to watch the D get pressure on the QB again.

Jerry should have hired a big name proven winner. Made a big splash with a guy who can make personnel decisions and rule with an iron fist. His way or the highway. Then Jerry should step back and let that guy run the show.... for four years.

Ok, so they did that already. So much for the experts.

I only wish JJ would have done it sooner so we could have had Manusky as DC.
 
Not real thrilled, but not against it.

I'll always back a guy that is committed to building a winner here.

I still say back when all the Parcell's haters were having their parade when he resigned...I asked for some potential, realistic names to replace him....don't remember Phillips ever being mentioned, or anyone on the hot list for that matter.

I think those that insisted on change have, or will talk themselves into this hire as a good one.

For now, I'll just sit back and watch the whiners, and the whiners that whined for the last 3 years whine about about the newest wave of whiners. About as hypocritcial as it can get.
