Wade Phillips kidded about getting on Twitter this spring. He actually followed through on it recently.

Phillips created an account under the name sonofbum last month. He had a grand total of one follower until today, when he mentioned to Martellus Bennett (Jupiters_Crunch) that he was on Twitter. Marty B alerted his nearly 10,000 followers, and suddenly sonofbum has become quite a popular fella.

Phillips confirmed after the Cowboys Kickoff Luncheon that the account is legit. He mentioned that he found five people impersonating him on Twitter. He doesn't have any grand plans to tweet breaking news, although he did set the record straight about Roy Williams' injury last week.

"I just tried it out to see what it was," said Phillips, the first NFL head coach with a confirmed Twitter account. "They said it wasn't hard to get on there, so I did it."

Phillips' last tweet: I don't have as much time as Marty B to tweet---keep up with him and you will have fun
