Wade Phillips

Preach it, theo... I don't care what we played in the playoff game -- defensive scheme did not lose that game. Maybe Jacques Reeves' incompetence lost it, maybe the offense lost it, but defensive scheme didn't. Except for one drive, the defense more than held their own.

Too bad we can't say the same for the O.

Reeves single-handedly got exploited on that Giants 47 second TD drive before the 1st half. He also got blown up on the Giants go-ahead TD in the 4th.

Give credit to the Giants-they were smart enough to exploit this matchup.

We have a HC who has lead the Cowboys to an overall 15-4 record since he has taken over and people want him fired? OK I don't quite understand that mindset.
Let's get to the real answer to this question: People decide in advance that they don't like Wade for whatever reason -- that he's fat, that he speaks with a country accent, that he doesn't cuss out and berate the players, that he said we were 13-3, whatever -- and then look for evidence, no matter how flimsy, to support their opinion.

I guarantee you that if RJ were the head coach and he were 2-0 or 15-4 with an offense that had performed exactly like our defense has, almost nobody would be calling for his head. Certainly not in the numbers that have called for Wade's.

No-they lost b/c Drayton Florence butt-headed a NE player when they got their O out of FG range(lead to a NE FG). They lost b/c a SD DB fumbled away an INT with 6 minutes to go that would have SEALED the game. NE went on to tie the game.

So what if Wade made a bad decision to play prevent that lead to a NE score before the 1st half? SD gifted the Pats ELEVEN pts b/c of boneheaded decisions by the players.

What don't you get? Nobody denies the bone-headed plays of the Chargers that contributed to their loss. That doesn't negate my point, which was:

I'm seeing a trend where Wade goes into a shell the bigger the spot-light. He forced Brady into 5 interceptions, during the play-offs with San Diego. Wade went soft-zone and Brady moved the ball and scored a TD, putting them right back in the game.

The point is, when Wade went soft, the Patriots moved the ball and scored. When he wasn't playing passive, Brady played horrible. When Wade went soft against the Giants, Eli took advantage of weaknesses, and exploted reeves. When Wade attacked the Giants the second game they played, and Reeves was playing, Eli had 8 delay of game penalties and played horrible.

The next time the Music City Miracle game is on, check out Tennessee's final drive. With the game on the line and under two minutes to play, the Bills corners are playing man press coverage on the Titans.

I think you are right the reason some have not given Phillips a chance because they had no intention of giving him the chance to begin with. This is not about the Dallas Cowboy but their own self centered reasons. Given the play of this team not many coaches would treated as Wade is right now.

If Ralph Wilson hadn't been such an *** and meddled with the Bills QB situation, they would have been in the Super Bowl that year.(and for that matter, they would have beaten the Titans by double digits)

BTW-I read an article on Bill Belichick recently. Did you know that in ALL 3 of his Super Bowl wins, his Pats D had 4th quarter meltdowns? Of course, their D meltdown in the 4th against the Giants costed them.

Pt being that when you compare BB and Wade, I guess some have more luck than others.

What is with this place.

We are 2-0 coming off a huge game and heading into two more huge games in the next two weeks.

You want to fire the coach and defensive coordinator?

Why are there threads like this.

Darn right, the defense screwed it up last year, Don't let STEWY screw it up agian this year. I trust Campo more than Stewart

Was number 38 on TV, getting beat by a rookie for 7

I just dont know how anyone could not love the scheme we are running unless your completely against a 3-4 defense.

As far as 3-4 defenses go its hard to find a coach with a better scheme than Wade.

That rookie will beat alot of people this year....

There was Jerry's wow and he let it slip away. He was stolen in the 2nd round. I dont care if he is 5'9 165 pounds. Just get the ball and his hands and watch him work.. or throw the ball away 1 yard before the end zone.

I think Rowdy is much worse...............

I'm pretty sure Jerry got his wow player in this draft.

Once again... We had him in the box for character issues.

And considering we've picked up Pacman and Tank... They must have been bad ones.

He could have had two...

He was going to get Felix no matter what.
We'll see how it goes. It would have been foolish to rely on Adam Jones, and we just lost all our depth at corner, so that was an easy decision there.

We also needed a young corner more than a WR. I like Jackson, but I am very happy with the Jenkins pick.

I am also very happy with the Bennett pick b/c we needed another TE with Fasano gone.

IOW-we can't have everything.

If we had drafted DJ, he would have pulled that same stunt on us like he did the other night. CZ would have gone into major meltdown mode.

I really don't like Wade but i hope he starts utilizing the talent we have on D.

1rst round draft picks on D

1 ss(Roy who is injured)

3 corners(Tnew,Pac,Jenkins

2 OLB (ware and Ellis)

1 DE (spears)

7 of the 11 starters on D are 1st round draft picks.

Premature celebration. He tells the ladies that it's the first time something like this has happened, however his somersault at the East-West game says otherwise.

He's drafted better than Parcells though. I'm not a fan of him either, but sitting through draft days under him have been less pressure than having to sit through Parcells' drafts.

Who says Wade is drafting anyone???? EVERYONE should know that Jerry is calling the shots in the War Room..

The only difference when Bill was there , is that Bill had more War Room clout with Jerry than Wade does.

Jerry respected Bill more for his evaluation and input than he probably does Wade... IMO
