If you look at the way the Boys prepared for the Eagles game, their pass defense was clearly better because they prepared for it. They keyed on Westbrook's underneath patterns and played with a dime for the most part and it worked to perfection on confusing Mcflabb.
Wade Phillips said yesterday that they focused on stopping the Skins running game too much and they were unprepared for the passing scheme Gibbs implemented. By the way, too much Roy Williams bashing in this forum. I thought he played well (nice drive ending tackle on Cooley in the third Q). All this whining and crying over the Boys defense is silly. Phillips admitted they weren't prepared on defense. Implementing a soft zone coverage in the second quarter was a sign of confusion (Help, we don't know who will cover who, so play soft zone so we don't get beat deep!). Take it or leave it guys, coaches in this league do miss the mark at times, and yesterday the Boys missed it.
