Why is there all this BS about the hold on that FG?

The hold was perfect.

Asking myself the same question. I think Folk pulled a Roy Williams the safety and pointed a finger despite being at fault in the situation.....

You're gonna defend this man till your dying day.

0-4 in the playoffs, 0-5 if you count last years win and you're in game. Soon to be 0-6.

That post wasn't even about Wade. Maybe you quoted the wrong one.

And to be clear, I defend him on some points where I think it's appropriate. I think he's lousy at plenty of things, the press being one of them.

I think he looked a lot like Parcells did on Mondays... Like a 60+ year old man who hadn't slept the night before.

This is a tough, tough job, especially for someone that age. It's one reason I'd like to have someone younger... With Holmgren the exception.

There is no doubt that the job is a presure cooker, especially when all is not well.I think younger is better also.

I think Holmgren goes back to Seattle or winds up in Cleveland.

Did anyone watch the Tomlin press conference?

Compare that to Wade's. Tomlin is not happy at the losing the Steelers are going through, but he didn't say, "we'll be OK, we're still a good team, we'll play hard next game."

Tomlin ripped his team, and promised personnel changes to make up for the mental mistakes. I don't know if that will make a dfference next week, but we know for sure that Wade's aww chucks, we'll play harder next time......does not work at all.

Wade needs to make the team accountable and not take the blame for their shortcomings.

If this team played a good game in all aspecst of the game, just good not great, we be almost impossible to beat.

we need to save this for future reference, if the awwwwww shucks, everything is ok, doesnt work and the tomlin in your face does, we need to get this out to the media and coach cupcake, period!

Tomlin also said last week they were going to "unleash hell in December"... And then lost at home to the Raiders.

it takes awhile to take notice, i think more than anything the roetherberger issue on him not playing had like a division among the players, etc.

No way i want Holmgren here either he is too old;
if you look at older coaches that won their first super bowl etc, their 2nd team that they went to they lost; all except for vermeil with rams

we need a younger coach that can stay up late, hold his coaching staff to do the same, and cut or fire or trade players or suspend them when he needs to.

Yeah, the percentage is much greater to hire someone who has never coached before ... they have a great track record. Maybe we can get the next Mike Mularkey, Cam Cameran or Rod Marinelli. Dare to dream.

Oh wait .....we need a Singletray type coach here......

nevermind....they lost to the Seahawks yesterday....

Lets just see if we can win the SB this year......if not.....then the season is a disappointment.

I get no satisfaction from making the playoffs......and even winning a lousy playoff game.

Just win it all......and if not....its all the same......season a disappointment.

I think this team can compete with any team in the NFL on any given Sunday.....we just have to have our players stay focused and make plays.

Is it coaching? IMHO I dont think it is.....we need players making millions to step and execute.......

Yesterdays game was a hard fought game that we lost because of a few bad plays.....the Giants didnt make too many costly mistakes....we did and when you have two teams that are very similar in talent......this is what happens.

Lets see how we play against SD....I havent yet seen this team quit this year.....

Thats not how you do it, if you go get a college coach for example. First, that coach has to have won multiple championships as the head coach, he has to have his teams have swagger on the teams he was coaching.

Now, as far as young head coaches, I am not sure who is out there now, that might be brilliant. We do know that the young coach that was hired away from new england is a prime example of a good young head coach.

So, there are good young coaches out there, but you have to do your homework if you go get a younger head coach. Its kinda like jimmy johnson did after firing david shula as offensive coordinator, he asked around for a brilliant offensive mind and was told norv turner. When turner left for greener pastures, jimmy hired ernie zaphasee however you spell his name a proven offensive mind.

I am thinking that the person we might need to go get is charley weis, as an offensive consultant right now, so if a head coach is hired next year, you have a real good offensive coordinator in place. If you keep to the 3-4 you tell wade as if your jerry jones, i let you run the team for 3 years and you never won me a playoff game, your not going to get another head coaching job probably ever again. Run this defense that will soley be your baby, but nothing else.

You have to have coaches in place if your jerry jones and want to do it your way, but you have to have a head coach that will not stand for players trying to run the show like the denver broncos head coach did with brandon marshall, You see the results with them winning now. That is what is needed in dallas, a Head Coach that will stand up to Jerry Jones and say I am running this team, not you, you hired me to fix this, now go do your selling and let me run the team.

When players are traded, cut or released, I will let you get the glory, but I will be right there with you in the limelight. But i make the final decisions. For 13 years, you have tried to have total control over the team with you calling the final shots, with full control of the 53 man roster. how has that worked for you jerry? Any championships yet?

I tell all coaches what to do and how to do it, you dont mess with that, you just run your money making business and i will get you championships. No asst coach here will ever rub you the wrong way or snub you, I will see to that, but I am in control.

I swear it seems like this team is 4-8 the way some of these posters act.
In all of my years of following, coaching and playing sports, I really have never seen a longer list of complete crybabies...it's comical, yet so freakin sad. The sportwriters--who, by the way, are almost all anti-Dallas guys--are just as bad.

Its been 15 years since we've done anything worth noting. Fans have a right to complain.

No one likes whiners, but the only thing worse than a whiner - is a perpetual optimist that whines about other people whining.

the players have to get to a couple of playoff games to realize that it takes alitle more effort, urgency. Each level in the playoffs is higher tempo, the players dont know that yet.

Just like the players won their first playoff game in 91 against the bears, but the detriot lions destroyed them next playoff game, even troy aikman said they had no idea of what it took to be champions till charles haley got here.

You have to take steps to get there, so you have to win a playoff game or 2 and get your feet wet.

Then, you will be prepared for that big championship game in the NFL before the superbowl.

totally true like a head coach that whined he didnt get any respect as a head coach with his winning percentage, oh by the way, what is good ole wade's percentage in december and his winning percentage in december and playoffs with other teams?

this below says it all and who wade is;
The problem, as it always has been with Phillips, is that December and January escape him as if he were trying to grab a cold wind with his hands. Tack on the loss to the Giants and Phillips is now 3-7 in December and January since inheriting a supremely talented team from Bill Parcells in 2007. That includes a playoff loss to the Giants two seasons ago and four consecutive road losses.

That trend was the same in Phillips’ previous head-coaching stops in Denver (two years) and Buffalo (three). At those two places, Phillips was a combined 35-25 before December, 10-12 afterward. That includes two previous playoff losses in Buffalo, most notably the Music City Miracle loss when Phillips inexplicably started backup quarterback Rob Johnson(notes) instead of Doug Flutie.

It’s as if Phillips is like a great starting pitcher in the closing years of a career, when six or seven innings is as much as he can muster before turning the game over to the pen. Sadly, you can’t call in Mike Shanahan or Bill Cowher the way the Yankees used to have Mariano Rivera finish up for Roger Clemens.

Phillips is what he is, an amiable man who happens to be the classic coaching tweener. He’s a great defensive coordinator, so good that it shouldn’t be that big a step to successful head coach. And for the most part, Phillips is a good head coach. At least for 10 months a year.

Good one.

I think I'm more of a realist though. I've been saying 10-6 all season would be great.

the presser was BRUTAL. Some of the media guys were being total AH's. (sorry, it had to be said)

BUT...that's the price of playing/coaching in Dallas.

Dallas is 8-4 and in 1st place in the NFC East.

I'm sort of glad that Wade's more of a laid back guy. Last thing this team needs is a "THEY ARE WHO WE THOUGHT THEY WERE" moment at a press conference.

They'll fix the problems and get focused.
