I personally want Garrett as the head coach, for several reasons.

1. It would represent continuity with Romo
2. He seems to be a very well organized guy and I bet he would be more of a disciplinarian if he were in charge.
3. There is a difference between being on the staff and being "the guy"
4. I'm not impressed with any of the retreads who are out there, and yes, that includes Shannahan and Holmgren.

I would say give Garrett a chance and see what happens. (I'm talking after this season, of course)

well i for one, dont care a hoot about a 10-6 season; its what you do in december and the playoffs.

December is no more important than September. The overall record for the season is way more important than the record in December. I honestly wouldn't care if we went 0-5 in December if we somehow still made the playoffs, and THEN played well.

Dallas is 6-2 in it's last 8 games. Anyone getting their panties in a wad has psychological problems.

IF, and that is a big IF, Dallas has a horrible December, and fails to make the playoffs, THEN ***** about it. Stop *****ing about **** that hasn't happened, and very likely may not happen.

Did anyone watch the Tomlin press conference?

Compare that to Wade's. Tomlin is not happy at the losing the Steelers are going through, but he didn't say, "we'll be OK, we're still a good team, we'll play hard next game."

Tomlin ripped his team, and promised personnel changes to make up for the mental mistakes. I don't know if that will make a dfference next week, but we know for sure that Wade's aww chucks, we'll play harder next time......does not work at all.

Wade needs to make the team accountable and not take the blame for their shortcomings.

If this team played a good game in all aspecst of the game, just good not great, we be almost impossible to beat.

That is the difference between a superbowl coach and and lame duck coach.

Fair enough, that's fine.

I would take 10-6 and a playoff win myself.
Arizona had a poor December, yet won in the playoffs last year. New York did the same the year before.

Hard to not like Tomlin...he's definitely a standup guy. But his team is 6-6 in the middle of a complete and total collapse. They played FAR worse than Dallas did and have lost four in a row now. Dallas has won 6 of its last 8.

I don't want Holmgren either, but the 2nd team don't win squat theory is full of beans.

Holmgren may not have won a SB when he left GB, but he at least got his team to one. Same w/Dan Reeves when he left Denver (Atlanta) and Parcells when he left NY (NE). I just don't like Holmgren b/c he is a WCO guy who is not great developing non-QB positions. He was also burned out at his last stop (just like Parcells), no more burnouts please. If these coaches can burn out in NE and Seattle, they don't stand a chance in Dallas.

If Wade does not stick, I would rather take a chance on Garrett. Although I prefer Gregg Williams a tad more (maybe as his DC?).

you have to build momentum heading into the playoffs by getting hot in december and carrying that into the playoffs, so december is very very important.

go back and look at your history teams that generaly have gotten hot in playoffs in december while getting the bye week have won the superbowl

yes and no; but moreso this;
who really remembers super bowl losers?

does it really count that you got to the super bowl and lost?

just ask some former dallas cowboy playes like charley waters, cliff harris, randy white, and roger staubach, they hate the steelers with a passion

and are any of those former steelers any of their friends, i think not

JUST getting to a SB is an achievement in itself. You can't win if you don't get to the big game first Joe. Landry lost a few too if you recall.

My thoughts shadow yours when it comes to Garrett.

Another thing about Garrett ,if he were to succeed, is that he is young enough to keep around for the long term.

i know that, but only reason why landry is remembered is the winning of those 2 superbowls

remember what was said when we lost to the colts, cant win the big one

players were called losers even after getting to the superbowl

even bob lily threw his helmet after the colts beat us

i will say this about garrett, i have my questions on him, but just like the young coach that denver hired, he had to learn under bleicheck the cheater

and sean payton had to coach like 6-7 years or more before he came into his own, as an offensive coordinator

I think a younger coach could bring some energy to the table, maybe that is part of what is missing here in Dallas.

I'm not sold on McDaniels? in Denver. He might turn out to be ok but it's hard to see how much experience a 32 year old kid can have.

We need a coach that is a master psychologist, similar to Jimmy.

These guys can never get both sides of the ball to click at the same time. Might have something to do with the fact that we have two glorified coordinators.

Last year the offense and defense were constantly pointing fingers at each other.

Let me put this debate to rest, the offense has carried this team for 3 years.

One side of the ball has 7 former first round picks, huge contract, and do nothing but underachieve.

it's not wade's fault this team craps the bed every big game.....
Romo played out of his skull ....
Give up, you're dealing with a troll, not a fan. His only objective is to stir up ****.

"Collapsing" ? One game does not a trend make.

So what if he throws the record out there, it's a good record to throw. Not every team makes the playoffs, and when they do not every team wins in the playoffs. There is still time for anything to happen, just sit back and let the rest of the season play out.
When are you guys going to realize that "sucks4life" is a troll. You're only feeding it.

It's all so predictable. And so pathetic. Talking about the SOS.

We definitely have the biggest whiners and most fickle fans I've seen. Of course I only hang here so I guess I could miss the rest of the world.

We're still in first place. We only have one game left where we will be true underdogs.

NY still has Phi, Was, Car and Min left. They will be underdogs in two of those games and Was isn't a pushover now.

Phi still has NY, Den, Was, and Dal left. That ain't easy either.

***** all you want. It's not changing a thing. Don't let anyone deprive you of your little ***** parties. We're 8-4, still in first place in the division and our rivals have tough games left, too.
You're right. We also have the most trolls. They get fed very well on this site. No wonder they're so abundant.

I like Wade but I have to agree with this. During Bill's tenure, the whole team played tight, but it was the offense (when Romo got in) that had the best potential. The defense has always underachieved, under Switzer, Gailey, Campo, Parcells and to a lesser extent, Wade.

I would like to see the attack minded, discipline crazy, Gregg Williams as either the next DC, or even HC, for this team. He is unpredictable, flexible (coached 4-3 and 3-4 schemes) and most of all, tough. May be arrogant, but I like his unpredictable blitzes and blade to the jugular approach.

If the Cowboys want to shut these guys up, they need to go out and put a butt kicking on SD.

Take it out on SD.
