Didn't you know? It's Joe Horn or Michael Clayton! Forget the fact that Clayton hasn't done squat since his rookie year or the fact that Joe Horn completely sucks now we have to bring one of them in now and that will fix everything.
why would you get someone you don't like?

We're going to utilize our new, super-secret offensive scheme:

The one wide-receiver set.

It's too genius not to work...

All clayton needs is to change teams. he would be a steal for us if we could get him for a 6th. the idea that there is no one out there better than the scrbs we have now is crazy. was this not the same crap we heard on draft day when we passed ob Deshawn Jackson. he looks great in Philly right now.it's time to make a move.

I don't know what I'd do to take care of this 1-2 week issue (Because Austin, at the very least, will be back after the first game I believe) but I certainly wouldn't waste my time cutting Mike Jefferson in order to replace him with Clayton or Horn. Horn and Clayton do not provide any more upside, to Jefferson, so why waste their time? If they're not going to upgrade from Jefferson then they might as well keep him.

Let's not open up that can of worms..

That said, not drafting WR this year = idiotic, anyway you try to spin it.

When did i ever say anything about cutting Jefferson? i want him to make the team.

We should add Jefferson to the roster Put Stanback on IR and go out and find another WR whether it would be Clayton or Horn i don't care. We can't go into the season with 2 healthy receivers. Its not about the sky is falling its about we have depth issue. What if T.O. goes down in the first quarter and we only have 1 healthy reciever left? No but its all fine because Hurd and Austin will be back  are you kidding me?

So who are you cutting, and probably losing, in order to keep Jefferson and go out and get another guy to put on your roster for all of 1-2 weeks? cause whoever you 'sign' off the streets is going to be cut the moment Austin and/or Hurd comes back healthy.

If Hurd or Austin were going to be out for an extended period of time this might be a bigger issue but since Austin, at the very least, from whats been posted should be able to be back by the second game we're only needing to carry some guys for Cleveland. If you keep Jefferson, which you said you're happy to do, whose the guys you're cutting in order to bring in the new guy that will be replaced a whole 1-2 weeks later.

Stanbach to IR

Hurd also if it is a bad high ankle.

Keep Danny and Jefferson.

And look to trade for a young 500-800 yard receiver if Boldin or Roy is out of the question.

Horn or Clayton surly wouldn't be the answer to replacing Owens if he went down. Nobody we could get would replace him. At least our scrubs are familiar with our offensive system. I'd rather play them for one week than rely on someone else's scrubs.

Umm count and read?

1. T.O.
2. Crayton
3. Hurd
4. Austin
5. Jefferson
6.(some other WR from a transaction or amendola)

Stanback on IR

Why would we need to cut someone. Once again read and count. most importantly THINK

You want to IR Hurd over a sprained ankle? I know sometimes these things linger a bit but I've never heard of an Ankle sprain being serious enough to put someone IR for the entire year.

Sorry, not sweating this much. Yeah it sucks that Hurd and Austin are down. Who knows with Stanback. But understand, that someone of the group is gonna be back in a few weeks. Why overeact with bums like Horn, et al.

This desperation is Stupid! Realize we now have Bennett and Felix as new targets. Realize that we have people coming back soon. Sure it would be great to get another top ten reciever. If the cowboys like Bouldin maybe there is something there. At the moment there is no reason to apply a short term patch that doesnt even know our scheme, timing and routes. I don't think our coaches are as silly as most of you guys. My bet is one of two things will happen.

1. Cowboys stand pat.
2. Cowboys do a blockbuster deal for a top 10 reciever.

They will not grab an average or marginal veteran. Just not worth it.

So you intend to carry 6 WRs...that's cool. But to carry 6 WRs that means you are cutting depth somewhere else. Someone, be it a corner or a offensive lineman, or a Defensive back, that you might have otherwise kept, and might have otherwise given you more special teams play as well as depth than a Joe Horn or a Clayton will, will have to be cut from the roster in order to allow you enough room to carry 6 WRs.

And, again, that guy you really liked, and cut, isn't likely going to still be sitting there 1-2 weeks later when you cut Horn, or Clayton, once Austin returns from injury. So you lost out on that guy in order to carry 6 WRs for all of one week.

Even if you keep Amendola as your 6th that means you're still cutting out someone, some place else.

A bad high ankle sprain or worse.

Bad High Ankles have kept guys out for half a season before. Hurd does not have the talent to hold a spot for that long, as banged up as we are at the WR position.
