Well there were those folks that thought the series would go into the crapper when Frank Darabont left– So I'm not going to pass judgement.

I do think that AMC is watching the cost of the series like a hawk. It appears to be an expensive series to do because of all the elaborate sets and the number of characters involved. AMC may not be able to generate the ad revenue from it like a network (ABC, CBS, NBC, Fox) show.
