I'm not concerned Jerry will get a deal hammered out with Romo. Jerry knows better than anyone how hard it is to get a quality QB in this league.

He also said that he feels like if something doesn't get done by the bye week, it won't get done this year.
Plus, he said he believes that if Tony is franchised, he's not going to sign a long-term contract here.
So connecting the dots... He says we better get something done in the next three weeks if we want Romo here for very long... Or at least a happy Romo.
Just reporting what was said. (And Matt is pretty good friends with Tony.)

Do you think Bulger sucking has helped or hurt Romo?WoodysGirl;1685421 said:Romo would've never signed for 7-10m guaranteed. I think Schaub got 20m and he's done less than Romo.
So he was getting 20m easy. The question is if he can get 30+ like Peyton or 26m like Bulger.

Chocolate Lab;1685350 said:I guess the only news is that Romo wants this done and is going to be angry if it isn't.
I know everyone likes to say that being franchised is no big deal, that the player is still getting a ton of money. But the players never seem to see it that way. Just look at all the examples of it... Samuel being the latest.
Maybe Jerry thinks Tony is such a great guy, he doesn't care if he's franchised. But maybe he'd be wrong about that, like he was about Ellis.
I think it will get done, too, and probably soon. But I think Terry Bradshaw had a pretty good analogy on Sunday. He said Jerry was like the guy who's been divorced two or three times, and then when he finally meets "the one", he can't quite trust himself to pull the trigger on a long-term relationship. Even though he was kind of being funny, that's probably not too far off the mark.

And Mosley, Mort, and the rest along to stir the pot, with fans reading things into quotes from one side or the other, whatever fits the agenda of the moment.
Wake up folks. The media is playing you yet again. It's what makes their world go 'round: ratings, copies sold, angry emails/calls to the shows. How much more obvious do they have to be?
airmobile;1686810 said:Well, if it helps you sleep better at night, keep saying that. Last time I checked, Romo has yet to sign on the dotted line, and that means anything can happen.
Romo could be a greedy *****, and why shouldn't he be? He's got Jerry by the nads. How long has Jerry been searching for a franchise quarterback? Too long. Romo has the opportunity and the justification to get a lot of money, and if Jerry doesn't want to pay it, he has every right to take his services elsewhere, perhaps to Green Bay.
