I'd rather let our younger WRs get the time and develope since TG and TO arent getting any younger.

Slow, hes a liability. Has no playmaking ability outside of the red zone, doesn't have the speed to run anybody

Anthony Henry might diagree, he seemed to run right past him. Luckily for us he dropped that ball or Carolina very well would have beat us.

I do agree it is time to get younger at the position. Having 3 WR's with 10+ years in the league will not help with the development of our other receivers. They need to see some playing time.

Panthers | Johnson mulling whether to return next season
Tue, 16 Jan 2007 08:11:05 -0800
Scott Fowler, of the <A href="http://www.kffl.com/link/129">Charlotte Observer, reports Carolina Panthers WR Keyshawn Johnson is undecided on whether he will return to play in 2007. Earlier this year, Johnson had stated he'd only play for Carolina if offensive coordinator Dan Henning was retained. Henning was fired earlier this week. "I don't know, man," Johnson said. "There's so much bull that goes along with the NFL. This is one of the toughest calls I've ever had to make. I could play until I'm 40. But I've always felt like that in the offseason, if I start to feel like maybe it isn't for me, then maybe it's time to say, `Never mind.' " Johnson added that he will not participate in learning a new offensive system in Charlotte. "I'm a California guy. My kids (ages 11 and 8, they live with Johnson's ex-wife) are here. You ask me to come in there in March -- nope. You're taking valuable time away from me and my kids," Johnson said.

No.... :cop:

I haven't completely lost faith in Parcells yet, but I will if Keyshawn comes back.

In that case I'd rather see a first day pick fill that role, and step up to a starter the following year.

I think between hurd and austin we don't need another young receiver. Key would serve a nice role for next season.

I wouldn't have agreed with you last August, but I do now (except the Key thing). I'm especially excited to see Hurd do something meaningful (and hell, maybe even Jamaica Rector) after that preseason he had.

I don't even think you spend a second day pick on a receiver. Maybe a 7th if you're feeling adventurous. Go elsewhere for now.

No thanks. He can take T.O. with him if he would like as well.

Agreed, but if a receiver is the best player available when we pick, regardless of round, I would say that we have to take him.

We get in trouble when we draft for need. We just need to stick with the best player available, and fill in the gaps via free agency.

I know T.O. causes matchup problems, but he drops the ball way to much and I've never liked him and that hasn't changed.

I don't like the BPA approach and I use the '06 draft as exhibit A. That second round Fasano pick still seems like a :bang2: to me.

I disagree that the Fasano pick was based on BPA. I think it was a pick based on need, because BP was so enamored with running the 2 TE offense. That is the draft strategy that gets us into trouble.

Beast would rather keep TO, at least he lead the NFL in TDs.

I'm not too thrilled with leaving the future of our WR corps in the hands of a couple undrafted free agents.

Our QB is one
I knew someone would say this and started to add something to my post about that. The rarity of Romo is what makes his story so great. Lightning rarely strikes twice.

I like what I've seen from Hurd and Austin when they've played. I don't expect more than a Crayton type role out of either, though.

It would be pretty stupid to give up on Hurd, Austin, and/or Crayton just cuz we have an undrafted QB that seems to be the future of the franchise.

If they're showing promise, give them a chance.
