I might end up looking at SUVs, I don't know.

I don't use my truck anymore like I used to, but I do like trucks.

I noticed when I got rid of my truck friends quite asking me to help them move. Now I'm just invited to the house warming parties. :laugh2:

Movers are cheap. When I graduated and left university housing I got my stuff moved out of storage and into my apartment for like $150. It was more than worth it.

Congrats on the job. It's pretty heady.

Thanks man. I have plenty of warehouse experience plus a warehouse/customer service job after I graduated (that was full of *******s). I think that job, my experience, plus my degree finally separated me from everyone else this time. I had heard time and time again that "I'm afraid you're going to leave this job after a few weeks for something better because of your degree." I would hit 4-5 jobs sites every day since February. I won't get rich from this job, but it's a start.

I'm just glad to finally get started with something decent. I also like hands-on work, so it's my kind of job.

Hey man, I've got an '05 F-150, crew cab, 2wd, with a 5.4 V8 that has about 75k miles.

I love this truck! I use it everyday for my small time lawncare business. I tow an 8 ft trailer, and have gobs of tools in my truck. The deep bed of the pickup is awesome, my dad has an older F250 and his bed is a good 8" shallower than mine.

The engine is strong, I put exhaust on mine (I haven't found the perfect set up for my exhaust, bun I will figure it out!). I beat the living piss outta my truck almost everyday, I take it off road to go do work and I drive at least 100 miles everyday. It's also been in 4 fender benders ( none my fault!, but you can't even tell my bumpers are about 2" off center, the other cars weren't as lucky haha)

I say all of that to say...it's never been in the shop...not even once! I don't baby it either. No squeaks, ratteling, or wierd noises. I absoluteley love my truck.

That's my 2 cents haha

I'm thinking F-150. I don't like Titans or Rams, and the recent Tundras look like big turds rolling down the street.

My first F150 I bought had 131,000 on it when I took ownership. I put another 110,000 before the transmission went kaput.

My current F150 has 237,000 on it. Dad's company used to run both Chevy's and Fords. The Fords lasted longer, but I can't tell you with any certainty that the one's he had were subjected to the same working conditions.

I can say that the Chevy white paint job fleet trucks will peel their paint a heckuva lot faster than you want.

This Tacoma is 9 years old with only 135 k miles, but it's starting to be a pain in the ***. I've had to recently replace two batteries, the starter, the brakes, the spark plugs, and two air filters. I just had the check engine light come on, but I took it an auto parts store who plugged it in for free. Turns out it was my gas cap not screwed in enough, although I clicked it when I did. The transmission is slowly going out too. I'm just ready to get rid of it.

I had a salesman job earlier this year that didn't last. I drove around a Chevrolet Malibu and it was a POS.

That's because if you're going to go Car, you go foreign. If you go truck, you go American.

As for the OP. F150 all the way.

Plus you could always go to school and try to get an MBA, while you work. Then you could make bank.

I myself am going back to school while I wait for my credit to clear up. It'll just be me finishing up a 2-year degree, but still.

Again, congrats.

Thanks.

I'd go for a 4 year degree if I were you.

I'll get off every day at 4:30, so night classes at 6:00 aren't out of the question. I'm gonna work this job until the economy shores up and I can start making better money.

I have a 2006 Tacoma and like it.

My step dad had a new F150..had electrical problems and would just not start sometimes....traded it in on a new Dodge Ram. Both seem about the same interior wise. Exterior the dodge was better. But those both were mid $30k trucks...alot for a friggin truck.
