ever seen. Am I the only one that noticed? How many could he get with more pressure from someone else?

Would love to see him get the record.

How about we sign the SOLB who had the second most QB knockdowns in the league this year at that position?

Want to guess who that was..

If we get a better book end pass rusher, I'd like to see Ware used to be more of an overall threat like Clay Matthews is. It would mean dropping in coverage more but with Ware's ability, it could result in more game changing plays like pass deflections and interceptions.

If the Boys can get someone opposite of him that can put constant pressure on the QB, I think he easily gets it. It's crazy he gets so many sacks being doubled and triple teamed constantly.

Almost Anthony!

So good at getting there after the QB releases the ball on time.

Its still a pressure. Its not all about the sacks. Its about getting pressure on the QB.. something he does alot better than most fans realize.

Honestly, there arn't many SOLB's better than he is. We have much more important positions to upgrade than SOLB.

Am I the only one who doesn't think Ware isn't anything special in coverage? I know he doesn't do it often, but has he ever made a play out there?

Not saying he's bad at it, but he should be rushing the passer every play.

Am i not the only one who doesn't think this sentance sucks?

Pressure only happens when you impact a throw. Judging by the fact QBs throw on this team at will and defenses ignore Spencer in their pass protections giving the right tackle no help, that pressure isn't having any effect.

Open this up to 4-3 defenses, think about defenses as a whole. The great defenses almost always have bookend pass rushers. Mathis/Freeney, Woodley/Harrison, Osi/Tuck, this year Cole/Babin.

Are we looking to be average? To be 8-8 or 9-7? Then sure, let's get an average edge rusher.

If we want to win Superbowls we need to aim higher, we need to be better.

totally disagree, when you have the best pass rusher in the game you dont send him into coverage, you send him after the passer,,,,especially if he is the only one on your team who does it well

Spencer doesn't rush every play like Ware pretty much does, and when he does he faces doubles or chips a decent amount of time. We want a guy who gets pressure, and he's proven he can get pressure on the QB. He may not be a great finisher, but he gets in their face. Our OLB's are at the disadvantage, however, of having a DL that gets zero interior push in the pass rush. When you have two good edge rushers, but everytime they beat their man, all the QB has to do is step up into a gigantic pocket because he has no pressure at all in his face, its harder to get the sacks. Fix the DL, and i bet all of a sudden you see Spencer as an 8-10 sacks a year type guy.. which is 2 sacks off of what he gets right now and 2 more sacks a year would put him up with the top SOLB's in the league.

As it is now, his overall numbers the past 3 years make him one of the top SOLB's in the league. Somebody talked about Clay Matthews in this thread. Clay only had 6 sacks this year.. does that mean he wasn't getting pressure? Heck no.

Against Miami he cut off the throwing lane to the RB, and earlier in the season he also took a TE or RB out of the picture in coverage on the left side (offense's left) in a pattern down the sideline. He's also covered more than one player on a screen that totally disrupted the play. So there's three-5 from quick memory.

The flat pass to Gore that disrupted that play and turned into a big sack.

 He does rush the passer on almost every play, and runs right past the QB.

IMO, Ware did not have a spectacular season. Many of those sacks came in losses to the Eagles.

He is a terribly flawed pass rusher, and can't make this defense better with the game on the line like he used to.

He drops back into coverage a lot. I have caught myself during games *****ing that he isn't rushing the qb, but out in coverage.
