Would I take Freeney on my team? In a second. That doesn't mean that he's not overrated though when you look at him as a complete player. I think the entire Colts defense serves as a cautionary example of what happens when you place too much emphasis on sacks and not enough about gap control and holding up at the point of attack.

It's not like the Colts defense is playing in games that are 10-7 defensive struggles.

When you look at any of these hybrid type DE's around the league, the attack strategy against all of them is to run right at them because strength is not their game. I can't think of one who has the strength to consistently match up against a OT who weighs over 300lbs. My point is ....Freeney is not the only pass rush speacialist who gets drove off the line on running plays. We will see the same thing when Ware lines up there and teams make it a point to run at him.
