Yeah, but he will never come here.

This isnt the place for players or coaches with ambitions in their sport. We have nothing to offer to lure them to us.

But we are still able to attract players who look for big money or coaches who dont get touched by the rest of the league anymore.

DC: Dump Cowboys
Who’s to say Ben Johnson isn’t looking for big money? He was a coaching candidate and didn’t like the trash teams out there last year so he went back to Detroit. KC and 49ers don’t need head coaches.

He doesn’t strike me as a guy who needs control in the front office though he will be the biggest name out there so he will have leverage….he sure put a lot out there….screen passes to tackles….sheesh.
im not sure dunking on your prospective employer is a good strategy. i don't think jerry would consider him for myriad reasons. i'm also not particularly enamored with him considering the offensive firepower they have. i'll never understand why stacked rosters make hot candidates.

They are stacked but I don’t recall many clammoring for those guys….La Porta, St. Brown, Jameson Williams….these were not first rounders or big names. Montgomery was ehh in Chicago and people crapped on them for taking Gibbs that early.

Ben Johnson passed on the commanders job even though they rolled out the red carpet, just hired the consensus #1 next star at GM in Adam peters, had the #2 overall draft pick in a loaded QB draft, had 6 draft picks in the top #100, and the second most cap space in the league.

Why on earth would he then go on to be stuck with a pretty rigid roster due to cap reasons and have to answer to Jerry as he grows increasingly older and senile.

The cowboys are an NFL spectacle, they are not a place any serious candidate CHOOSES to go to. It‘s yes men or candidates who have no other options.

Ben Johnson is a good OC, he’s not that guy. But he looks like he is because he has Dan Campbell as the HC who set the tone and attitude of the team, look at Ben Johnson nothing about him says or gives off the vibes of him being able to mold a team like the one he’s calling plays for now

He will be in demand by teams looking for a new head coach. There will be no less than eight teams making a change at HC for the 2025 season. The Cowboys will be one of them. Ben Johnson will have options.
