I'll tell you what, our dull fans were out in full force last night. Aside from the occasional third down, that place was as quiet as could be. It's gotten a lot better over the past couple of seasons, but last night sucked.

I'm going to the Rams game, I won't let you down!

NFL.com called last night's game a "snooze-fest."

I suppose for many football fans it was boring.
-Only one TD in game
-Not lot of big splash plays
-Giants weren't competitive and game wasn't close

Me? I was just grateful we won with ease and given the opponent...quite happy for the generally low-risk offense.
Not at all
Nothing boring about watching our OL go against their DL. That' was an epic battle

Yes it was, but that's the NFLs problem, and I'm very happy that we won! The league is having major ratings problems. Last year our team, with 2 star rookies, single handedly kept them from a horrific viewership year. (That's why suspending Elliott was not a good business move)

Unfortunately everyone knows that Elliott and Dak are the real deal, and their might not be as much intrigue again this year. We will be on national TV a bunch, and still carry the leagues notoriety, but the league needs to become more attractive to milenials.

Let the guys celebrate, BRING SOME fire, let players blast social issues, let young guys play a lot, and stop trying to build the league around 40 year QBs who they've been talking about for 20 years. It's an aging product....

BTW I'm darn near 50, avid Boys fan, and don't think the ratings are flukish. They better get some marketing innovative people in a room and have some real meetings. GooDell needs help.... Else, The next round of TV negotiations are going to be brutal, and league revenue decline.

Holy crap I actually saw the Cowboys gets sacks, a turnover, and play solid defense.

I with you. There were so many sub-plots to this game: how would Zeke perform in the midst of all the legal maneuvering? How would Green and Collins handle the Giants DLine? Witten on the cusp of passing (pun intended) Michael Irvin. How would the Cowboys revamped defensive backfield perform? What about the DLine? All of that, but especially the defensive play, made for an exciting game to me.

And a win against the Giants... can't top that :)

Here is an interesting take on week 1's offensive ineptitude across the league:

"Offenses require more full-speed repetition than defenses. Wide receivers and quarterbacks need to hone precision and timing, and offensive lines require cohesion and coordination. Despite an industrial complex of OTAs and minicamps throughout the offseason, the risk of injury and collectively bargained practice constraints deter teams from full-speed, full-contact practices. Preseason games have become a joke, with entire first units playing together for scant reps or not at all."
