All hyperbole aside, the offense took a major step back this year - not just injuries, we were clearly out planned in several game, particularly down the stretch.

The O-line, which Sparano used to coach, was a mess this year. And again, most of their problems were mental, not an injury to Kosier.

Two direct areas where Sparano provided input declined significantly this season.

Should we have named him HC for that? Honestly, no. Not unless Jerry was stepping aside and giving GM responsibilities to Bill.

But anyone downgrading his contributions to this team or the job he did this year for Miami is as 'agenda driven' as those giving Jerry grief for letting him go.

Good post, wilee. At least, it's good b/c I agree with it. Sparano was a very good coach. There's no harm in saying we miss him.

I hate to belabor this point in every thread, but going from -7 in 2007 to +17 in turnovers helped Miami out this year. By the same token, going from +5 to -11 killed us. Our problems aren't the GM. They're not team chemistry. They're coaching and execution related, and they're definitely fixable without blowing up the roster, overhauling the coaching staff, and benching our probowl QB.
