Was Romo's Career "Wasted"?

From undrafted to star QB that holds many Cowboy's passing records can't say it was a wasted career ... But we did waste deep playoff run opportunities... Some of that was certainly on Tony making a mistake at a crtical time, but he also helped the Cowboys get there...

Only Romo fans remember the crayton drops , the fasano drop in the end zone, the Murray fumble to seal the game, the dez drop on 4th down. When Romo was good enough his teammates weren't. But !, he's the QB so he'll be remembered by most for being good but not great enough.
They made a good point on NFLN, right or wrong, the greats are known for being the players playing the most important position on the field who dragged flawed teams across the goal line on their backs. Everybody can revise to fit how they want that concept to hang.

Yes, our FO failed him. Bottom line. And they did it willingly
Or unwittingly. They made it too much on him. "Romo friendly". Hey Tony, be like Brady. We are giving you two TEs. Nevermind that they can't play and your coaching is not all time great.

It is not a coincidence that his finest seasons were with run games.

I should say that it was the Cowboys that wasted Tony's talent. As far as Tony , he lived the dream as QB of America's team coming from nowhere to do it. I hope he does well on TV. It's great we have 2 QBs on the #1 announcing team on 2 different networks. lol

Ya JJones did waste some valuable talent in Tony and he admitted it

The opportunity for the Cowboys getting really good draft positioning was ruined by Romo making a truly bad team a mediocre team for many years. That was were the waste was if any existed during Romo's time at QB.

He also kept Garrett from being fired...........all those 8-8 seasons would have been 3-13 seasons without Romo doing his magic.

Amazing how a running game can make a QB great.....Emmitt Smith comes to mind!
