Was that a Setup for LA?

First off, I know, I know, its only pre-season, who gives a crud? Im certainly not gonna lose any sleep over it, and Im NOT usually one of those "The NFL is rigged" type conspiracy theorists, but this just had setup written all over it....not only did the Rams win their first game (pre-season or not) back in LA, they did it in dramatic fashion, of course!.....All I know is, even if it wasnt setup, I certainly saw this comin a mile away...I said to myself when it was 24-21 with about 7 minutes left, that we would go 3 and out and Rams would go down and score under the 2 minute warning...sure enough!! Im sure it really was just how it happened, but it sure was convenient how everything played out like it did......oh well, we get the last laugh for now anyway, our 4th Round QB was almost perfect and their 1st overall pick, who they mortgaged the future for, was pure garbage.....

Not at all.

Rams played to win in the 2nd half, we didn't. They dink and dunked down the field and we played 7-10 yards off.

Bigger picture our first team destroyed theirs with a rookie QB and w/o Zeke.

Arrow is pointing way up for us

Partly agree SL50 arrow is pointing up but part of me thinks they threw the home team a bone

Oh I know the arrow is pointin up for us no doubt, but part of "setup" could mean we didnt play to win cause we were told not to.....I dont believe Regular Season and playoff games are rigged, but I wouldnt put it past the NFL to try and mess with the pre-season, in cases like this.....

I don't think its a setup but the game coverage was all about "ISN"T IT AMAZING FOOTBALL IS BACK IN LA !!!!!" Even Jerry read his lines into the camera at halftime.

Which made me laugh because I live in LA and no one cares. Some people do but its a small minority. But from the NFL's viewpoint, that vocal minority in a city the size of LA is still more people than Cleveland has rooting for the Browns.

In don't think it was an out right set up. But they played to win, as we just played the normal PS theme.
If you heard Fisher after the game, he wanted to win, said it was important for them.

But I do think they got some of the usual help from the refs.
How does a ps game for them, one of the most penalized teams the last few hear, don't get a penalty tonight.
Very suspicious.
They missed a lot of calls that should have been penalties for them, as we got our usual phantom bs against us.
And no, I am not just saying that because we lost.

We always get stuck with the PR games that the other team "needs" to win, like the 9/11 anniversary where the Jets had 0 penalties.

Plus we're a Jason Garrett coached team where 4th quarter collapses and brain dead game management rule the day.

There is more money here and that is what matters. The test will be the stadium and winning. The luxury boxes and psls will be boon

90k for pre season game is a good haul.

Zzzzz

We smashed them in the first half and then turned it off and evaluated

I would think regardless it being LA's first game..

this team needs to win.

It has forgotten how to..from the coaches to the players.

We are not coming off a playoff year..

we are not light years ahead of our division or our confetence.

You can not flip a switch come Sept. and just cruise off.

Of course 80% of these guys will be back working construction jobs the week after Labor Day..

but I think winning at this level has to be a priority..even in pre-season.

Shower looks like Weeden to me..he doesn't throw downfield and when he throws..

its for 5 yards and short of the sticks everytime.

We neef to move on from him immediately.

I can't hear you over the crowd noise here in the stadium...;)

Meh. We dominated them with the players that are worth anything. Our 4th rd QB looked light years ahead of the #1 pick. 2nd half of that game was the bottom of totem pole players. Meant nothing. Never worry about the scores of preseason scores. Coaches don't. I came away feeling really good about Dak and Whitehead.
