Was that a Setup for LA?

this team needs to win.

It has forgotten how to..from the coaches to the players.

but I think winning at this level has to be a priority..even in pre-season.
The starters did win. BIG.

Sorry I've more bad news for you, we aren't moving on from Showers immediately.

First off, I know, I know, its only pre-season, who gives a crud? Im certainly not gonna lose any sleep over it, and Im NOT usually one of those "The NFL is rigged" type conspiracy theorists, but this just had setup written all over it....not only did the Rams win their first game (pre-season or not) back in LA, they did it in dramatic fashion, of course!.....All I know is, even if it wasnt setup, I certainly saw this comin a mile away...I said to myself when it was 24-21 with about 7 minutes left, that we would go 3 and out and Rams would go down and score under the 2 minute warning...sure enough!! Im sure it really was just how it happened, but it sure was convenient how everything played out like it did......oh well, we get the last laugh for now anyway, our 4th Round QB was almost perfect and their 1st overall pick, who they mortgaged the future for, was pure garbage.....
Reminds me of Kobe's last game vs the Jazz. He couldn't have put up 60 on the Jazz d normally if they only played 3 players all game. Whatever though, that game was meaningless and so was this one. The L.A folks get to feel good for a second.

There is more money here and that is what matters. The test will be the stadium and winning. The luxury boxes and psls will be boon

90k for pre season game is a good haul.

I agree, I hadn't tracked the Stadium deal but putting a 3 Billion dollar version of LA Live plus another Playa Vista where the Forum used to be could awesome. You would draw everyone from the West Side and west of the 405 toi that area and still be accessible to people coming from the Valley, Long Beach, OC, etc. If they do it right, that could be huge.

Not at all.

Rams played to win in the 2nd half, we didn't. They dink and dunked down the field and we played 7-10 yards off.

Bigger picture our first team destroyed theirs with a rookie QB and w/o Zeke.

Arrow is pointing way up for us
Exactly, I'm not caring about the outcome as much as the arrow is pointing up tonight.

But yes, I do feel the NFL wanted the Rams to win on national TV in LA for the first time in 22 years. I was thinking more the penalties were not in our favor. But who cares. We may have found a backup QB for this year. That's awesome.

Are you new to watching Cowboy's football? This type of game happens on a regular basis and usually follows this pattern.....

Offense gets a lead
Defense either plays 10 yards off the ball or they blitz and get stonewalled.
Other team comes back and takes lead in final mins of the game
Garrett botches the clock
Team loses, but fans claim the game didn't matter

The Rams have the most disciplined 3rd and 4th string players in the NFL. Only 1 penalty the whole 2nd half. lol

My son thinks it is faked like the WWE! He no longer watches or cares about the NFL. This game smacks of a fix. If I ever find out it is fixed I am also done.

These teams played with different goals in mind. Dallas treated it as the preseason game it was and used the opportunity to evaluate talent. The Rams treated this game as the return of the NFL to LA, as it was. They played to win. No Romo, no Zeke, no Witten... our first team still beat theirs. I'm encouraged. The poor play of our third team verses theirs isn't that concerning to me.

I don't think its a setup but the game coverage was all about "ISN"T IT AMAZING FOOTBALL IS BACK IN LA !!!!!" Even Jerry read his lines into the camera at halftime.

Which made me laugh because I live in LA and no one cares. Some people do but its a small minority. But from the NFL's viewpoint, that vocal minority in a city the size of LA is still more people than Cleveland has rooting for the Browns.

Must not be too small since they had what, 90,000 at the game.

Didn't Jerry Jones say he wished the Rams would've scored that opening TD instead of the Cowboys? If I heard him right, this was clearly a setup by the league to make LA fans excited. It's harmless this time of year.

No Tyron Smith also on offense.

Pre-season game, so it was not surprising. The game reminded me of many regular season games, defense gives up a game winning score in the last couple minutes.

If I'm not mistaking, he then followed up that statement with "but then I would be lying".

As Beast from the East said...........it was sure curious clock mngt at the end. Got the ball back with 1.50 to go, 3 timeouts. None used. Now I know Cowboys wanted nothing to do with OT, but it would've been good snaps for showers to run a 2 minute drill with good clock mngt and some input from the coaches down the stretch.

A lot of holding going on in this game not being called. That's understandable considering all them big boys bunched together.

But I saw a lot of their WRs blocking down the field before catches were being made. This is out in the open penalties very easy to see. Come on now, why be so obvious about it.

It does make you go ...hmmmm?

If this game was a setup then that mean that the Rams let the Cowboys have their way in the 1st half so they can comeback and win the game so the L.A. media can talk about these Rams with heart.

Refs did do a bad job but I still believe that the Cowboys in the first half looked pretty good even though it is against vanilla defense.

Don't think it was a setup, but I also think the Rams coaching staff were trying to win the ball game more than Dallas was. The biggest factor was the guys the Rams had playing at the end though, I wouldn't be surprised to see that Spruce WR, or Aaron Green the shifty running back make their final roster. They fed them the ball down the stretch, not much the 3rd or 4th string guys could do.

Spruce will probably be their most reliable WR this year, he will be the slot guy week 1 I bet. I might be bias living in CO, but he is just a solid player. He runs good routes, has good hands etc. Teams get way too caught up in the measurables and over look the fact the guy is just a football player.
