Hmmmm.....I told you at the time there was a better option, that you could plug in and count on for 12 years. Hey....you know the comparison was going to happen....better it comes from a nice guy like me.

I think that both dudes can play. Tyler Smith has already been way better than I thought he'd be. Penalties were an issue, just like we feared. But for a 21yo rookie, he is way ahead of the curve.

OLs take several seasons to develop. If it all clicks, Smith has the combination of size, speed, and insane power to be pretty damn special.

I think the NEED was greater at tackle, with Tyron Smith being in and out of the lineup. Tyler Smith has been great and will be a fixture for 10 years, so I'm very happy with the pick. But Linderbaum has All-Pro written all over him as well.

Well, considering that Biadasz has been decent at center and we ended up needing a left tackle, I don't think it was the wrong pick. With Linderbaum, we end up benching Biadasz and playing Ball at left tackle when Tyron gets injured, at least until Peters got ready. Then, who knows if Peters would have held up starting every game. With Ball playing, we might not be in the playoffs. I guess we could have flipped Steele to left tackle and maybe put Martin at right tackle with McGovern at left guard and Farniok/Biadasz at right guard. But I think Biadasz is strictly a center as is Linderbaum, so that would have limited our options.

Tackles always carry more value. However, the center was probably the most complete linemen on the board and at the time I thought he would he made a lot of sense. I don't have complaints with drafting Smith though. He's pretty much exceeded expectations and hope he can build on a solid year in year 2.

Linderbaum was credited with 3 sacks and 6 penalties. Biadasz 0 sacks and 5 penalties. Center ain’t our problem. It would be nice to have a perfectly capable player at a position, who doesn’t have to be the highest paid player at their position, when their rookie contract is up for a change. Especially for this year, Tyler was the right pick!

I loved Linderbaum too and wanted the cowboys to take him when they were on the clock and he was still there.

That said I don’t think they’re going to regret the Tyler smith pick either. It’s like years ago when they took Tyron smith over JJ Watt.

I was torn between Linderbaum and Jermaine Johnson the edge rusher from Florida St.
I am happy with Tyler Smith .

Yeah he was my pick too. Complete stud.

That said, Tyler Smith has been outstanding all things considered. Imagine if he could have just settled into one position for the season in May.
Tyler was a very good pick. It wouldn't surprise me that he is feeling some rookie fatigue with finishing a 17 game season, and now getting ready for the playoffs.

It's worth mentioning though, that Linderbaum is a total stud. He just walked into the NFL and did this.
