Will Levis, QB of Kentucky, was supposed to be a Top 5 pick before he started slipping. Was he not the top player on the Cowboys draft board when they made their choice at No. 26? Was he not the best player remaining?
In Cowboy World, why does "take the best player remaining at the top of your draft board" never apply to the most important position? Why do we (claim to) follow this rule when it's a defensive linemen but not a quarterback?
We are told it's too expensive to trade up to the top of the draft to go after a blue chip quarterback prospect. So what's the excuse when one, like Aaron Rodgers, slips to the bottom of the round and the Cowboys take Marcus Spears, instead? Why?
In the 35 years since we drafted Troy Aikman, through thick and thin, has there never been a single time in a first round when the best remaining player on the Cowboys draft board was a quarterback?
I'm tired of this BS .....
