Brunell vs. Romo? Dallas
Portis vs. Jones AND Barber? Dallas
Cooley vs. Witten? Dallas
Randle El/Moss vs. Owens and Glenn? Dallas
O-line vs O-line? Maybe a toss up.
D-line vs D-line? Dallas
LBers vs LBers? Dallas
Springs/Rogers vs. Henry/Newman? Dallas
Archuleta/Taylor vs. Davis, Coleman, Watkins/Roy? Dallas
Novak vs. Vandy? Dallas
Frost vs. McBriar? Dallas

I know you could argue that Romo only has a 1 game under his belt and who knows what he'll do over the long run but at this stage Brunell is just DONE, let him throw a bunch of 5-6 yarders to boost his completion percentage, but he no longer seems able to throw any deep passes to back off defenses so we will be able to concentrate on Portis. The one concern I do have is Cooley who seems to be catching up with his exploits from last season and TEs have had success against us.
Any thoughts?

You, sir, must have hit up Mr. Irvin for some of his stash....the above is one of the most one sided opinions I've ever seen.

As a Commander fan that is pretty darn hard on his team I'd offer up a realistic and still decidedly Dallastic favored:

Portis vs. Jones AND Barber? Skins
Cooley vs. Witten? Tie
Randle El/Moss vs. Owens and Glenn? Dallas - Moss will be out
O-line vs O-line? Tie
D-line vs D-line? Dallas - Andre Carter is on autopilot (see Remote Control w/ Adam Sandler)
LBers vs LBers? Dallas - We have Holdman
Springs/Rogers vs. Henry/Newman? Dallas - probably - haven't seen our CBs healthy this year
Archuleta/Taylor vs. Davis, Coleman, Watkins/Roy? let me ship Adam "Archuletta gonna run right past ya" to another team and we have a push....with him - Dallas
Novak vs. Vandy? Dallas & any Pop Warner team
Frost vs. McBriar? Dallas & any team that fields a kicker sporting more than one limb below the waist.

When did Springs get back in?

Maybe 2 games ago.. It doen't matter tho, they still can't cover us and they have ABSOLUTELY zero pass rush. Romo will have all day in the pocket.. They're in big trouble..

Springs has been playing a bit here and there the last game or so....

Not sure he officially started against Indy - but he played a good portion....

Their LBs are a push?

How?

Ellis, Ware, Ayodele, James is a much better group than Washington's group. It is tough to compare a 3-4 to a 4-3 though.

Here are my comparisons:

QB: Romo vs Brunell: Brunell--Come on...he's a vet. Romo is relatively a rookie. He had one very good game. Brunell has had many. He's on the downside of his career, but there's not a lot he hasn't seen yet.

RB: Portis vs Jones and Barber-- Again, we're a little homeristic to say that the combo of Jones/Barber is better than Portis. Portis can do it all. He can block, run, and receive. It says a lot for Portis that we have to compare him to TWO of our guys. The only edge I can give us here is the fact that Portis is banged up.

WR: Moss, Lloyd, ARE, and Cooley vs Glenn, TO, Witten, and Crayton: Dallas gets the edge here.

LT: Samuels vs Flo: Tough call here...but Flo hasn't seemed to recover from his injury all the way. Samuels gets the edge.

LG: Dockery vs Kosier: Another close one. At the beginning of the season, I'd give the edge to Dockery....but Kosier has played well. Edge Kosier.

C: Rabach vs Gurode: Push

RG: Thomas vs Rivera: Thomas

RT: Jansen vs Columbo: Columbo's making progress....but he's not to Jansen's level yet.

Defense:

Commander front seven vs Dallas front seven: Edge Dallas....We're not as good as I'd hoped. But our front seven can stop the run and pass without resorting to all out blitzes.

Secondary:

Springs/Rogers vs Newman/Henry: Dallas....They're banged up...even healthy they're not as good.

Archuletta/Taylor vs Williams/Davis: Push....Taylor and Williams cancel each other out.....we still are undecided at FS. Sure AA stinks, but I can't say that he's so much better than Davis.

We're pretty evenly matched if you ask me. The big difference is our youth on defense.

Portis is nursing a high ankle sprain. I damn sure wouldn't take him over JJ and MBIII...

Seriously - bring the kicking / punting jabs.....they are well deserved on our end.....

Gotta realize there is a problem when your 3 year old daughter watches our kickers kick and asks why "our" kickers don't try to do what the other teams kickers do.

Man....kids are smart and pick up on everything. Even one's who's dads grew up as a Commander fan in TX.

I just can't give Brunell the edge over anyone at this point. He's Washington's version of Bledsoe. If you say (and most will) that Romo is better than Bledsoe then he's better than Brunell.

I think overall the offenses are pretty close.

Dallas has a big edge on defense.

I don't think they're as even as you imply.

Born in MD - lived here 10 years as a little one....mother was a major Commander fan....Dad got a job in Arlington, TX....finished Elementary, Junior High, High School and College in TX. Graduated in '94 from UTA b/c a knee injury killed all the offered track / X-country scholarships to UT and Tech.

Moved back to the Northeast and been here since. I've had a good "give and take" w/ 'Boys fans all my life. Funny how most of my close friends (even after moving back to the northeast) have been cowboy fans.
