That’s how it works. If a guy isn’t good enough to be a rotational backup, you have to cut him and sign him to the practice squad. You don’t keep him and cut a stronger player just so you don’t lose him. Personally, I think they were hedging their bets on Bohannon actually improving. Now that they’ve seen what they have, Ridgeway was a calculated risk. Hill is actually having a decent year in the rotation. If one of our game day tackles went down and we only had Ridgeway, fans wouldn’t be happy. He was all bravado who wasn’t quite ready for the NFL. Let’s see if he is able to get on the field with all those Bama products.
