I can just hear Jerry Jones now answering a question about Jonathan Allen:

"Given the investment we have made, and you know we have made investments, we, ahh, we like what we have here with bringing back Osa. And like I said we have options and those options are always, ahh, there, that we can leave the door open for bringing in more players if the situation presents itself. But with Osa and Mazi here, and we like Mazi, we think he can be a great player for us given what our coaching staff wants to do".

Okay I am hearing Jerry's voice in my head now which is my cue to stop. So basically, not getting my hopes up for Allen.

@Risen Star - would he be an upgrade over Mazi?

I suppose we have to give Mazi one more season to show something but I'm not counting on him. His progression should be a bonus.

Jonathan Allen is not inspiring anything right now.

No brainer. Get on the phone. Work a deal. Stop imagining this is a reach. DT is a position of need...stopping the run is a huge problem...address it. Simple. How good does secondary have to be when your front 4 stops the run and gets after the quarterback. We just watched this win the superbowl with rookies on the back end.
