I suppose we have to give Mazi one more season to show something but I'm not counting on him. His progression should be a bonus.
Agree, although I wonder if his third DC in three years (four if you include Michigan) wants him to lose or gain weight.

Mazis performance thus far ought to be every reason to use another first on a DT, yet it’s likely to end up being the exact reason he never will again.

Stupid Eagles used a first on Carter after taking Davis the prior year. Idiots.

And that went well. They haven’t valued DT forever either….but bringing back the same crew at bigger money ought to fix the gaping hole in the middle of the defense.
The Osa deal was a very good deal and 2 more dtackles will be on the way through the draft and free agency. It was actually impressive that they got the Osa deal done. That was an excellent start to the offseason.

He will sign with the Eagles.
I promise each of Philly and Washington end up with one of the big name DL on the market while Jerry is “real pleased with the progress of Mazi Smith.”

Plus he just gave Osa the bag which means he will play better.

It was “impressive” that Joneses paid him market value?

You just keep exposing yourself as a paid Jones shill

Incredibly impressive that the FO didn't wait till the 11th hour to sign a player with a pff below 70.......I can hear the drum beat starting for Jerry getting football executive of the year for 2025.

Next time we sign an average player, consider leaving out the words "very good deal", "impressive" and " excellent" because it just reeks of pure exaggeration.

Allen played in 8 games last year, started 7. In injury kept him out most of the year. In 2023 he played 868 snaps on defense and had 10 TFLs, 19 QB hits, 22 pressures and 5.5 sacks.

He just turned 30 so I don't think his career is over just yet. I would definitely kick the tires, but I suspect he wants a big payday. His contract with Washington was only for $18 million per year. If he wants a 1 year prove it deal for under $10 million I would take a chance on him.

The league says it is a great deal and the agents are not happy that he signed below his market value. At a 6.25 million cap hit. It is an excellent deal and to say that it isn't is just totally ignorant.

You want me to ask another member how long you have been around, when I can simply click on your name (like I already did) and find out that information for myself...

Are you talking about reading the site for an undetermined time before signing up? Okay. Not sure why another member must testify on your behalf via hearsay but I do not think that is necessary.

Nearly four years is a long time. Not as long as nearly 21 years but still a long time nonetheless.

He is a higher end talent and will probably end up like Wagner, who some experts around here wrote off years ago….and the experts who run the team felt as if a 5th round pick coming off neck surgery was the better call, even if the DC wanted Wagner specifically.

Well at least we don’t have cap problems now as a result and getting gashed up the gut isn’t why better teams destroyed us while the window was open.

Actually adding a guy like Allen isn’t the right move for now after they let this roster go to crap. Just go back to your draft picks Stephen. It’s cheaper and that’s what it’s all about.
