Washington Times: Cowboys take physical play much too far

It must be sad to be a fan (aka: Dan Daly) of the ONLY team in the NFC East not predicted to go to the playoffs.

I guess is I were a newspaper writer and had nothing positive to say about my favorite team, I would look for anything, and I do mean ANYTHING, bad to write about the good teams. Perhaps we will get a "hang-nail" article soon that says the only reason the Cowboys are so good is because several players have hangnails which give them an unfair advantage.

is this a real article? If anything....I have noticed that the Cowboy players are TOO friendly with both Mcnabb and Westbrook....they are always patting Westbrook on the butt....or helping him up. Do you ever see anyone help Barber up after a play? Everyone that gets near Romo is trying to kill him! What a poor concept for an article....guess this guy was not sure what to write this week because the Commanders actually won a game AND scored more than 20 points while doing so.

yeah i bet they did it on pourpose. thats why ratliff was one the floor with his hands over his face in disbeliefe that he grabbed westbrooks facemask on 3rd down....i hate people like this i mean yeah it was sloppy playing but nothing was done to try to hurt him. I play football myself at LB and a guy that short and runs so low to the ground and quick like westbrook will always draw those facemask calls. You try to grab onto him while he's running right pass you and while your trying to fight off a block. it's been happening to him to his whole carrer and it's going to continue happening

Send him a picture of MBIII with his helmet twisted completely backwards on his head last week. He can do an article on the killer Browns.

Exactly. The author obviously didn't pay attn to the penalties. Otherwise he'd understand that they just played some really undisciplined ball. That's not dirty, not stupid.

Well he obviously either didn't watch the game or is being absurd purposefully. I think likely both. Sees an angle and exploits it. Because what's written is true. Right [dripping sarcasm]

Puzzled? Angry? I offer two words: Washington Times

This is the same newspaper that favors global war but is in a twist over some facemasks.

Can someone please send this tool the pics of Westbrook with his hands full of Cowboys defenders facemask?
I'm not trying to defend the article, but there is a difference there. When a defender grabs a facemask it is in order to pull the offensive player to the ground and often results in twisting the neck. Stiffarms usually don't have the same dangerous effect.

our guys was just tring to make plays thats all. The "stripes" missed calls all night on both sides.

Please...

Simply a Commanders fan who also writes for that cruddy newspaper. He clearly didn't pay attention to much on Monday night.

Ratliff was so upset with himself for grabbing the facemask that he laid back down on the ground with his hands on his head. Westy is so elusive that defenders were grabbing anything they could... and with as low as he runs, the facemask happened to be it.

That's taking Dallas hate and envy a little too far, IMO.

How many times did the Eagles do things like throwing their bodies at Jason Wittens Knees when trying to bring him down that can also cause serious injuries.

Wow. Like anyone does it intentionally. How absurd and stupid. And I like how he conviently doesn't mention how Westbrook got away with a couple of facemasks of his own, while trying to stiff arm.

Either way no one does this on purpose, IMO.

what did i just say Washington is obsessed with us! but well to be fair he does have a point that we sure did have a lot of facemask penalties and a couple that we were lucky werent call that really needs to stop cause its stupid. but for him to say that we did on purpose is just plain idiotic!

All the posters who stated that Westbrook's freakishly nimble and quick athleticism combined with the often undisciplined (but not dirty) play of Dallas' defense are the reasons for the 3 facemasks. Wade Phillips is the LAST coach that would ever suggest his players deliberately facemask someone. His respect for the game and the players that play it is far too great.

Daly is a great writer, but he's completely off-base on this one. Completely.

Maybe this guy thinks the NFL should start playing touch or flag football. Penalties are and always have been part of the game. First the NFL needs to change is their referees penchant for making bad calls even with video evidence. Sorry just ranting

I guess Dan Daly didnt watch the two eagles games last year.

Juqua thomas almost killed julius and then the witten play.

pretty funny.

the jealousy and hatred is at an all time high.
