It's natural when you're a nice guy who gives praise to your teammates and then the team doesn't lose. It's when the losses add up and people start looking for reasons that you see the media get the long knives out. It's been a while (Big Ben) since we've seen a rookie with a 10 game win streak.

But Dak does do a great job, regardless. He's obviously a great dude.

Oh yeah, not long ago Romo was the Golden Boy and the media fawned all over him,,,

 I am. It's just interesting to see how quickly every Dak thread turns into a Tony comparison. I wouldn't have thought it even possible to turn this subject into one. lol

So we should basically ban the word "Tony" from this forum? It wasn't a comparison to Tony. I haven't seen it from anyone. Has nothing to do with what Romo had or didn't have.

No I mean the media giving him softball questions, joking around with him.....every report that comes out about the guy is favorable. Stories about how he's turning down endorsements, turning down going to Kanye West concerts.....

Its just different. Romo got this later on in his career. I personally haven't seen anything like this from a rookie QB. Usually rookie QB's don't get how to handle the media. Sure, it helps his team is winning but there's rarely a moment where you cringe at Dak talking to the press.

Well, ya, of course the media gonna give him easy softball questions on a team win streak. When Dak makes a mistake to lose a game, then the media will ask what went wrong in a serious tone.

Between Romo's playoff fumble, Cabo, "choking" narrative, backwards hat:rolleyes:, celebrity girlfriends, etc. Its just night and day with him and Dak. I love Romo but he left some things to be desired as far as image and reputation when representing our team, to be honest.

Dont get me wrong, he was never a drama queen ala Jay Cutler/Ryan Fitzpatrick, and he was never in legal troubles ala Vick and others, but there was just another plateau that wasnt reached. Part of me thinks Daks 4 year exposure to national media in the SEC helped a lot in this transition.
Honestly, I think some of it is a generational thing. My kids and their friends (a little younger than Dak) seem to be much more gracious than I was at that age. I raised hell when I was a kid and if I had Jessica Simpson at a hotel in Cabo, I don't know if anything could've dragged me back home. The backward hat thing is just stupid and if you look at Tony's competitive heart, he was a pure warrior. He was the reason this team was competitive during his tenure. I certainly place no blame for Tony and his actions throughout his career and I hope/pray he has no regrets when all is said and done.

They give him softball questions but there are times where they test him and he doesn't fold. He handled the Romo situation perfectly. He could've easily screwed that up. He handles the front office well. He handles the Dez questions well.

He's getting more than softball questions out there.

Yep. How he answered the Dez question was perfect.

Loyalty changes fast.
Who is this intended? Jerry Jones?? An owner known by peers, fans, and media for his steadfast loyalty for current and past players alike???

Let's not get the business side of the NFL twisted. Prescott has exceed all expectations. He's a young man who seized upon his golden opportunity and making history from jump. How is Jones supposed to feel about Prescott? Depressed?? He's having the time of his life.

Jones has a "miracle" quarterback who has helped lead his franchise to the best record in the league. Let's keep things real. Jones is not being disloyal to anyone.

They were talking about this on Ben and Skin earlier. Also, I just had a nerdy conversation with Skin about the new A Tribe Called Quest album. He's a cool guy.
